Calgary meet with a 3 car turnout! - 6G Celicas Forums

So I am always checking the meet/event board and hoping to see something that is close, and I have yet to see anything!

So how many people on this site are in Western Canada? Is there enough of us that we might get some interest for a possible meet? Thought I would throw the idea out there just to get an idea of numbers and hear what people have to say.

I figured that we could probably get a few of you up from Washington! If we did it in B.C. we could sure have our pick of fun mountain roads to go cruise around on!

Well I guess I am the only one here in Western Canada that wants to do a meet. Guess if I really want to meet some other 6gc's I will have to get in my car and drive to a meet somewhere.

Thats great that there is some other interest locally! It may be a big meet of 2 of us from Calgary!

Anyways, what I am thinking is mid August sometime. However if it is just the two of us it could be anytime really!

Well it looks like this will be a Calgary meet, since there isn't really any other interest from Western Canada.

What day works best for you guys? Evenings or Weekends? Sunday is probably the best day for me to meet. I am thinking maybe Sunday August 20th?

I work shift work. Days, four on, four off.
Just checked the schedule, August 20th is a day off for me.
Looks like I'm good to go.

There is another 6th gen I see driving around my house often.
I will try to catch the guy and also let him know.
It is yellow and he has had the rear wing removed.

I guess there is some interest starting to grow now in Western Canada. I think for this one it will be in Calgary on Sunday, August 20th. More details to come.

Well, possibly I might be able to do a BC meet this year. Not sure though as my schedule is pretty busy right now. I just moved into a house and have a lot of unpacking to do as well as some renovations. Also have a couple of weddings coming up in August.

Will have to guage interest. How many people from BC or Washington would be interested in getting together for a meet?

I wouldn't mind getting together to meet a few of you from south of the border.

I gotta admit going further into Canada than Downtown Vancouver scares me! Its a different country and I guess I just expect it to be more foreign. lol! i dont do good with foreign. I went to Germany and didnt eat anything for a week except pretzel sticks cuz I was too afraid to order anything cuz I couldnt understand what people were saying

I talked to the guy today and he seemed interested.
He knew about this site which is a good sign.

Well it doesn't seem like there is too much interest. We will be lucky to get 4 cars out!

Anyways, know of a good place we should meet. Any that might have a half decent background for pictures?

Sait is on 16th ave NW between 14th street and 10th street. Access from 14th street by SEARS or 10th street half way up the hill (by the LRT bridge over 10th street).

That is what outsider posted on the celicatech thread. I can't offer you anything further as I have not been there myself.

20th? damn, cause it turns out, the next time i'm in calgary is going to be this month, from the29th to the 2nd. Probably wont bring my car out though. oddly enough i'll most likely be in my friends '06 WRX.
