I thought maybe we could make some sort of list of cleaning products you swear by and would recommend to everyone.

Prestone interior cleaner- because it actually cleans the seats. My seats are back to factory look from this stuff. It does wonders!

Meguires paint cleaner- a must before a polish and wax.

Armorall- Anything! I love the wipes for the dash and all interior plastics. Looks and smells great.

Mother's Claybar Kit - yeah baby.

If you have never tried Zaino.........it's worth the money. I've been kicking myself for not having gone there sooner. Zaino is a multi-stage paint polish/sealant system, that when coupled with proper prep (I.E. a GOOD claybarring and washing w/dawn to cut all old wax off) will leave your paint slick, smooth, and protected. Not to mention extremely reflective and the polish itself is extremely durable, we're talking 6 months to a year durability. Nice thing is that it layers, meaning you can apply additional coats and it just gets better and better.

For reference, the purple pearl Trans Am is original 1993 paint which in my personal opinion is shot. Just lots of minor scratches, pitting, and some clearcoat seperation on it. But, it's a definite 20 footer now.

Zaino also does a host of interior cleaning products which I have yet to try but according to others, it well worth it.

I <3 Simple Green. I jack gallons from work on a regular basis. My engine area is already sparking, as it will stay, but I used it on my friend's '92 SE-R. He bought it from a lady that neglected it, to say the least. There was oil spilt everywhere and grease caked on everything. His valve cover went from a yellow to a silver in about 5 minutes.

Are we the only people who use cleaning products?

Meguiars dash wipes are great.

I use Eagle 1 wash and there spray and dry wax, gives it a nice shine and very little extra work since you gata dry it anyway.

deff not a fan of armoral, or turtle wax, its meguiars, mothers, or eagle 1 for me.

actualy i have the whole eagle 1 line up, window cleaner, wash, spray wax, and tire cleaner (tire stuff smells so strong and like crap but works good.)

for the interior, 1/100 simple green followed up with stp son of a gun protectant. carpet/upholstery- if you've never used a steam cleaner, you're missing out.

for the glass, either perfect glass or invisible glass

meguiars smooth finish clay bar kit (or mothers, i've used both) are the BEST thing you can do for your paint. followed by meguiars scratch-x and a coat of cleaner wax, a ten year old car will look and feel like a million bucks.

goo gone automotive formula will take off anything. road tar, bug guts, tree sap, emblem adhesive...you name it. just use a soft cloth.

mother's all wheel cleaner does magic for alloys.

eagle one tire wet gel applied with those foam tire swipes lasts days.

simple green is also great for cleaning the engine (not too harsh for hoses, plastic, and wiring)

febreze is amazing for making things smell pretty.

that's pretty much it.

I hate armorall on vinal. It makes it too shiny so it's hard to drive b/c of glare and it deffinately attracts dust somehow. Instead I use Vinylex and it's awesome.

alright.. someone show me a good claybar how to site.. im tired of my dull paint.. im going to do a "dawn" car wash, claybar, cleaner wax, buff, gold class wax

NXT is great if you want to be waxing your car every 1-2 weeks. It gives an awesome shine, but has crap for durability.

Actually, if you want to get it down to the best surface to start with, wash with dawn, claybar, and wash with dawn again. High alkaline detergents like dawn will cut any old wax buildups off of the paint surface. Granted it's not something you want to do each week, but a couple washings a year with dawn isn't going to hurt anything. Formulated car washes, while great on your paints surface, merely clean any dirt off the surface, and won't tear all the old waxes and junk off.

well my car is dull so I thnk I need a think wax and clearcoat lol

dishsoap isn't a bad thing at all...i used to wash wish palmolive all the time b/c thats what i had, and holy crap does it take off EVERYTHING. personally, i find i get good results with "car soap" if i use a little more than they recommend on the bottle. but once or twice with dawn is no big deal.

So.. "dish soap" wash, claybar, "dish soap" wash, cleaner wax, buff, Gold Class wax. Hopefully I can do this soon.. always hot outside.

What about for rims? Mine are gettin old and are getting little "deposits" (?) on them...I'm sure I need a compound or something to rub them out....but what would yu guys recommend? (I am soooo not buying new rims anytime soon, lol).
