ok so im trying to do my rear disk conversion and i remember when we pulled the parts off of marks car the rotors wouldnt come off so i decided to leave them on till i could get them home and pry them off

well i even tried using bolts to break it and IT STRIPPED THE HOLES in the rotor

it seems like its trying to bring the e-brake drum with it and thats why it wont come off, i have no clue what to do here and im freaking pissed off as all hell because problems just keep coming and coming with this piece of **** car.

hammer and a torch, heat the hub and beat the old rotor/drum till it comes loose.

are you sure your ebrake is off!? there may be an ebrake adjustment pawl acessable through the back of the dust sheild, try backing the shoes away from the rotor.

(someone correct me if im wrong but...) the e-brake is contained in the walls of the rear rotors, so the rear rotor and the e-brake drum are essentially the same thing. they should come off together...or is that not what you meant?

Are the brake components installed on the car already ? Or do you have the whole unit sitting on the floor somewhere ?

If installed on a car - Since you stripped the srew holes. Grab a can of PB blaster spray the lugs and the center of the rotor. Wait a few minutes. Take a rubber mallet and beat on the inside of the rotor. By inside I mean the side thats facing the car.

If its not on the car put the unit in a bench vice and do the same techinque listed above. You can clamp on to the bottom of the rear knuckle.

well i got the rotor off but those 2 pins that seem to hold the e-brake to the hub broke off, i think there job is to hold the ebrake on while the rotor gets taken off so i dont think it will be a problem but we will see.


i called dan earlier to find out whether or not i could just leave the caliper/rotors on he told me i couldnt so i began to take the rotor off, then when i called him about the rotor being stuck i told him i had the knuckle and we realized i can just leave my brakes assembled and swap the entire assembly via the knuckles

also the ebrake wasnt even connected so im pretty sure it wasnt on plus i could spin the rotor i just couldnt get it off
