so one of my friends is selling his 18' five spoke rims for about $550 w/out the tires..the rims are white....my car is also white....adn i was wondering what you guys think of white on white?? i think it looks ''clean'' or ''smooth'' but then alot of ppl say it looks gay...so i was just wondering what your thoughts are...?

black + black = smooth

blue + gold = subaru

any color + gunmetal = super smooth

white + white = not sweet

i'd discourage you from picking them up. what kind of wheels are they anyway? if they're a good brand like bbs or something and he's asking 1/2 price for them and they're in great shape...i guess it would be a good deal. but keep in mind that they're going to require 40 series or smaller tires, and you'll probably be at a grand once you put on decent rubber.

i don't want to be a bummer, but i'd hate to see you pick up the wheels, be dissatisfied with the overwhelming whiteness of the things, have a stroke when you see how much tires are, and regret the sacrifice in ride quality for some looks.

if you want to spend 500-600 bucks on rims alone, there are some really nice non-white wheels you can pick up for cheap in 17's, like rota slipstreams.

My favorite wheels for white cars are gloss-black with a polished lip. The black matches because of the moulding, tires, trim, and tinted windows (a must)! I'll be ordering my gloss-black wheels with a polished lip here in a week or two!

what about rims that are not just black, or gunmetal, or chrome, but all of those in one? like the konig troubles. those wheels are hott i think. what do you guys think of trouble's on a black 6gc?

I like the white on white as long as the white is the same and there's a polished lip. Check mine out. I think they turned out pretty well.

I wouldnt do white on white.

But I would do White on gold...atleast it looks good on a subie.
