hi folks does any one know how reliable such a setup is.

Properly built it would be plenty reliable. The recommendation that I would make, if someone asked me to do it, is to just go for a better engine though. By the time you buy the 20v, then rebuild everything with new parts and all the machine work and so on, you could have a 3SGTE in there. ESPECIALLY with a Celica.

Not really since you would still have to modify mounts for a st. If someone wanted to do all the work they could put it together themselves, but a 3sgte would require skills alot of us dont have.
if you can turn a wrench, you can work on your own car. i completed my swap, got some help with the wireing, and figured out the rest with the help of the site. youd be suprised what you can do

that motor mount modification is a joke. you get a drill and drill a hole in the exact spot thats already premarked for you. people make it out to seem like its harder then it really is.

Doing a 3SGTE swap into an ST is LOT easier and less work then rebuilding and putting together two different engines.

all i wanted to add is that with any engine there can be hidden problems like example getting a 3sgte getting it just to find out that a 10 year old (depending on gen) engine is on its last leg
the 3sgte is a proven power plant but not many guys on here take it much further than just a swap
7age or 7age 16v or 20v is a fun motor if your staying n/a is not a huge power gain but you do gain
ok we will break it down like this a st celica and a guy or girl with some automotive knowledge
3sgte motor 20v 4age
gt tranny use the c52 no cost
wiring harness wiring harness
custom shafts use stock c52 shaft no cost
but on the 7age you have to tear apart the 20v take the head pistons and a few other items. then put them in a 7afe block 7afe rods with 20v pistons new head gasket and adjustable gears to get your timing right
all in all (of how hard it is to build) i think a 7age project on a scale of 1 -10 is an 8 where as the 3sgte is a 5 or 6
