Im interested in getting my car tinted, but I'm not really sure by how much.

To those who lives in the NY and NYC area, what tint lvl do you guys have?

Front Sides - 35%
Back Sides - 20%
Rear - 20%

BTW, would having 20% rear tint kill my vision during at night?

Would tinting my frotn windshield 80% get me in trouble?

BTW - does anyone have any 35% tints and could possibly give me a pic or two Thanks

You want to stay legal or no?

Legal is 70% on the front windows, meaning they allow 70% of light to enter your car. They are not even worth it.

I like the rear window DARK, 5%. Then go with whatever you want on the sides and rear quarters.

If you tint the windshield... as soon as a cop sees you, he will pull you over. I was quoted $140 to do the windshield ONLY. Not worth it at all.

As for your "rear vision", once you get used to it, your fine.

tints on the front window are illegal everywhere, as far as i know.

if you really want to tint dark, you can try to get a "medical" written...basically a prescription for people who are highly sensitive to light.

personally, i'd recommend going 35% all the way around. having a bunch of different shades going on looks pretty tacky. i had full 35% on my last car (everything bu the windshield) and i never had any law issues. as long as you put down all the windows if you get pulled over, you should be fine.

the rear window is no big deal to get used to, like dom said...especially since rearward visibility isn't awesome if you have a spoiler anyway.

Yeah legal tint is pretty much nothing lol. But then again, I dont advise you to go extremely illegal...my tint is either 2% or 5% I really dont know...all I know is that the human eye cannot see through it lol. Makes it pretty hard to see at night if theres no streetlights. Also sucks if it rains at night. Pics in my profile to compare the front strip to the regular glass.
