i was told i can use a 94 corolla 1.8 trany. does anybody know i'm in texas.

Yeah, for that matter you could use a tranny from any Corolla or Celica ST, but try to find the C52 which is the one with a starter boss on both the intake and exhaust side of the engine. They're quite common.
