mr2 swap vs st205 - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #39903 6 posts Started by urbandork
ive noticed that on the 3rd gen 3sgte in the mr 2 the alternator is on the back of the engine rather then the front. How does this affect a swap when using an mr2 clip?????
i heard that you are going to have to fabricate a bracket to mount it correctly.

i dunno i read that somewhere in the stickies. but other than that, i guess it should all be the same.

oh yea and if you use an mr2 tranny ur gona have to do something to it to make it fwd or something.

Is this good enuff 4 ya? :D

none at all, its actually better to have the alternator in the rear imo gives ya more space in the front!!
unless you really know what your doing.... getting an mr2 clip is going to give you more headaches then its worth. there is lots of little stuff that needs to be relocated to make everything work. not to mention that your harness will have to be totally redone to work in your fwd car.

i did the mr2 swap.

i'm very happy with the results, but i dont even want to tell you how long it took and how much it cost and all the BS in between.

Seriously... All the brackets 'n stuff should bolt right in place for all the parts. That, and you get the sweet AWIC.
