>I hate rust. my car has too much of it around the back wheel wells not to mention rear hub bolts. any of you replaced a wheel stud on the back of an ST? its near impossible without taking the hub off.

WTB 99 gt from down south or something

replacing studs are quite easy. i imagine it's the same process on both the GT and ST.

sell your celica and get a rust free one wink.gif i hope to pick one up in the near future. i miss driving one.
Hey Brian, did you get that stud replaced? If not, swing by my place and we'll have it done in no time. Or PM me for a step by step. I've replaced EVERY stud on my car, it's a little tricky at first, but not too hard.
i got it in. Its just that with the rear drums theres no place to punch it back in so its either it sucks it in when you put on the nut or you deal with it. I couldnt get it pulled all the way out but im hoping that as i drive it comes out a bit more. till its in its spot ill just keep the torque wrench handy.

and LMAO at this posting again. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/cto/1334234398.html anyone else notice that the center of the spoiler is upside down?

woot heading up to the rally this thursday!!! tongue.gif

btw 225/40/18s are badass with the tiens. I think some bodywork is gonna happen if i can get motivated this week. that and sourcing some rear disc setups cause im sick of this drum bull**** (they arent adjusting like they should be)

225/40/18s are good, but you need the power to move them. Good gripping force, but too heavy on the transmission in the long run.

Like my run with Lou's MR2 on the back stretch of country roads with Greg in my passenger. Tires gripped so hard I was cornering like a beast coasting up with Lou's power to weight ratio.

Also with Will. The 35W northbound getting onto 694W cloverleaf. My entrance speed was 65mph and gripped that cloverleaf at an easy 75mph with one hand on the steering and Will's all freaking out....I'm like chill, this is normal for these tires. Proved to him that day that the tires does make a difference.

>A question that I have been dying to hear the answer is: will a 2GRFE mate with the GT4's AWD E-153.
I saw a picture of a MR2 2GRFE swap where he ran his custom header behind the intermediate shaft, this means there is a lot more clearance than with the MZ block. This is good news because the reason the MZ don't mate with the AWD E-153 is that there is 1CM of the transfer case that interferes with the block. Did you know a 2GRFE makes 276WHP (on a MR2) bone stock (aside from better headers and intake required to make the darn thing fit). From all the chat I also gathered that it's very feasible to turbo without too many extensive modifications, no one in the community has done it yet but it's just a matter of time.

Imagine this, AWD 3.5L Turbo V6 GT4... err GT6 biggrin.gif

so lately I've come to a crossroads. Do i go with a 2GRFE v6 or 3rd gen 3S? ^that post^ made me wonder a bit about what can be done. and I'm still fairly certain that i can get a rear subframe from a Carina AWD and it will match up pretty well as its based off the at200 chassis. I figure ill go with that and the tranny and driveline from a 205 and pair it with the 2GR. I just hope i have the money to get it all when my motor goes.

plus something about a supercharged V6 AWD celica just sounds badass. Also related to that thread, We have a huge truck scale (and an old small one too) @ the farm now so weigh-ins are no problem

you guys missed an awesome rally this weekend! I'll get pics and vids up when i get back home tomorrow. I put 605 miles on in the past 2 days and still have about 250 to get back! definitely an event to go to if you like to drive your car lol (mainly travel between stages since you have to take major roads). LOTTA people taking pics of my car this weekend which was weird considering there were hundreds of Subarus there. More to come tomorrow when I get home and sober up.

Sweet, can't wait for pics!

Anybody here ever installed a clutch into a S54 ?? How long does it take ?? And will I need a cherry picker or can I just do it with a jack and some jack stands ??

I've done it once on a c60 2zz trans, 2 times on a s54 trans, and once on an e153 trans. The only time I needed a jack or engine hoist was when I did the e153 transmission. WAYYYY TOOO HEAVY!!!

The fastest I've ever done a clutch job was on the s54 3 hours from disassemble to finish. Because I used the wrong throw out bearing on my 3s swap. No hoist or jack because I'm that motha F'in Strong.

No Lie! I was there. Almost killed him because it wasn't going in. Strongest guy in Laos, b#tching a lot. Should see one of my buddy carry his SR20 tranny on his shoulder and bolting on the screws while just standing there under his car. "Need any help?" His response, "Yeah, could you grab that wrench over there?" (AMAZING!)
laugh.gif U should help me getting my head off then. All I gotta do now is just unscrew head bolts.

Yea. I think I can handle it. I will need help replacing the seals and timing the car though.

Are these eBay pistons? Someone told me they were, and I've never seen the real oem pistons for a 7a...

i do not think those are OEM Toyota pistons. those casting marks look strange and my 7afe has number/letter cast into the top of the piston.

Yeah, when I saw these, my first thought was that they looked like low-comp pistons.. but they're cast.. hmmm...

Hey Nathan, are you still free on Wednesday?
