ok so last week i bought a new deck. its and eclipse dvd player and it also has a function where you cna plug something eles to the screen (just like TV's) so i thought. "hey ill plug in my xbox" so i got all the cords and junk for it and a power inverter. everything works but when i turn on the inverter and try to play the xbox it dosnt get enough power. it sopposed to give out enough power though. also my engine is on. is it my battier or my alternator? or will it just not work?

thanks
its probably the inverter. you need to get a more powerfull one.

its a litle risky to keep a 360 in the car. i could see it getting stolen real quick.

i think the inverters fine cause it puts out 115V and the xbox needs 100V- 127V or do you mean the one i got dosnt work right?

also im not keeping it in the car its just in there to say i can play xbox in my car lol. ill take it out at night and when i go places where i leave my car and stuff
I wouldnt put my box in a car, they get hot enough already.
well dream cast and N64 to lol just anything to say i can do it.
how big is your power inverter?

It wouldnt suprise me xbox required around 400 watts of power!!!

EDIT : Found out its about 160. Thats interesting with that much CPU and a big video card..

This has ruined xbox all over it. Those things overheat soooo fast, but if you do put it in, make sure you screw the bracket in with something other than normal screws/bolts...not many thieves bring mor ethan a flatheaded screwdriver w/ em. wink.gif
ya i got a new power inverter i got one from car toys its works better than the radio shack one tongue.gif and im just got hide it if i ever bring it anywhere in my car. most likely the only place will be at school and every one knows its my car and not to mess with it lol

keep in mind its not the voltage or amperage your worried about, the the power inverter it says "300 watts." thats the total watts you can run through it. To find out how much wattage the 360 draws simply multiply voltage x amperage and it gives you wattage.
