Hi guys, little help here for a auto paint newbie . . . I have a small chip caused by a too-long battery post from the previous owner. As you can see it's starting to rust a bit:

It's about dime-sized, maybe quarter-sized at the most if you include all that might flake once sanding gets started. Here's a shot for scale: (and yes she desperately needs a wash; working at a dusty jobsite sucks)

So, a bodyshop wants to paint the whole hood. For 300 bucks. Now I don't think it's insane to repaint such a small spot. I'd like to have it look nice, but it doesn't need to be perfect. Now my dad says it won't look good at all, since the 10-year-old paint will have faded. How much can you notice the blend?
Also, what places have people had good experiences with online paint shops? And what's the best to get? a bottle for a chip this big?
Any links to paint touch-up how-to's that you've found helpful?
Thanks in advance.
