after 3 and something years of owning the celica is time for a trasformation

i will remove side skirts and magic front lip (already sold to malpaso)
change front bumper with a pre 96 one
buy new suspension, lowered one with camber adjusting
fixing my rims (from scratches and small dents)
and maybe a full respray (for a more orange red)

budget is tight so steps will be made slowly. time target is the italy paneuropean meeting (25.8.07)

dont touch your car
if no butget to lower your car just cut the springs.. and change your register plate

after some thinking this is the final look i will do:


front and side


rear (with the "holes" and the centre line closed)


this spoiler


these rear lights (all 3 lenses will be red)

i also will put headers, emanage and a cf oem hood

rims and color are still under investigation

for sure rims will be 17" the rear wider than the front and the color will be red (more orange red and not metalic)

one question: the 3sge dual vvti beams engine used on altezza (black top) and the single vvti engine on my car (red top) uses the same block? is it possible by changing the cover of the engine and the ecu make my engine 240hp@8000rpm?

edit: transformation will start the latest at 1/1/2007

What rear bumper is that? So far it looks like you will have a pretty nice car. Can't wait till I have the cash for a change.

i put limit to budget 3500 cyp for all. (this is 6000 euro or 7800 usd) (bank loan of course )

step 1

i installed my new radio (pioneer deh-p5800mp)
this is the night view


i am also playing with the dash colors... the above color is blue and the below color is also blue (darker than the above one)... so i still need to find lighter blue led condoms


question: is there a greenish layer or film on the climate buttons?

step 2 (weekend 2)

after our uphill last night it is time for next step of the transformation
again it was in the interior

i installed the rsm (very beautiful and usefull) changed the clock light to blue,


changed the stock white beams dash with non beams black one


(and as magic stated mixed some parts cos the non beams rpm meter doesnt work with beams)


and changed lighting of it to blue (i know i need new lamps)


note: i tested the rsm and my 400meter time was 15.8 at 134kph (not bad for 250kilos of people inside and an absoluterly untuned car) 200 meters was 9.5 at 107kph

In case JDM's are illuminate on an equal footing like EURO ones, that green is made my green condoms on bulbs and green LEDs...

step 3:
now its 9:40 saturday morning. i have been up since 5:30 working on the car. (i am not a fast worker )

first i put the rsm in the dash (over the 1 din radio)
the plastic that u see cut on the cover will be fixed with a new cover:P


and i installed the trd shifter (thank u tufy). the tricky part was that i cut some leather from below cos i dont like it hanging there (trd shifter is much lower than the stock one)



and the most important of all
i found a rear euro frame for licence plate
i will pick it up on my trip to italy in 2 weeks (thank u fabio)

Where I own a 5th gen, the cluster is a little different (Needle is orange color to begin with). You think theres a way to make the needle bright blue/white? And for the actual cluster, is it just as simple as putting in blue bulbs? ....where did you get these blue bulbs

with the stock white cluster its impossible to have the blue light, cos there is an orange film inside the cluster. with the black one is very easy, as long as u dissassemble the dash.
lamps can be found in any car accessories store here in cyprus.

about the needle i have no idea. the simpliest thing is to find some white ones and change them.
