oil psi gauge - 6G Celicas Forums

ok i hook it all up, put the sensor in the head where it goes, and i touch the sending wire to the sending unit and the gauge jumps all the way up to 100 y is that. ????? i rewired and it still does the same thing, new sending unit...does the same thing. what could possibly be wrong???? HELP!!!!! (spke719)

what you should get is a mechanical oil pressure gauge. Not an electrical one.

your grounding out your singal wire on the body of the sender. the signal wire should only touch the threaded part that it gets hooked up to. there should be some type of a gasket around the bolt that sticks out of the sender, to prevent it from grounding out on the body of the sender.

im only touching it to the threads and it grounds out.
