Hi everyone. Just want to know guys who have replaced their original headunit ( cd player & tape deck) what have you done to fill the large rectangular hole left by the tape deck? Did you know some place to buy something to fill this up or you have made it yourself?

im guessing by what you said that you had a double-din headunit and in you are going to a single-din headunit. if you are then this can easily be filled by going to the wreckers and buying a stock celica tray/compartment thingy, this will fill the hole perfectly. they are quite common and you may find that the curren has a similar tray that goes under the single-din headunits

also places like Bestbuy have things for spacers. Mine was a double unit, but now i have a single, and i have an insert from best buy. Ill get a pic sometime

you could get one like jess ^^^ with the little door. Or you can get a pocket one like mine. I use to have a door type one, but the previous owner broke the latch on it, so it never closed.

I got my pocket from an old Toyota truck in a junkyard for $3.00. It looks exactly like Akira's and fits perfectly.
Just get another pocket from an old Toyota or you could buy one from an audio store.

there are part numbers for this.. one is just the pocket.. and one has a pocket with folding cover..
