GT4 Bumper w/ Stock OEM Hood - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #41390 7 posts Started by m0dd3d1
So say I wanted this setup. I know that if you have the GT4 Hood and stock bumper there is a gap, but does anyone have a pic of how it looks with just a GT4 Bumper and OEM Hood? Is there a raised gap instead of a lowered gap? Thanks in advance.

Seems like it would make it hard to open the hood/get to the latch. I actually want to do the opposite. I've seen a pic of it and I think it looks kinda cool. The center bulge sort of makes another scoop.
Unless you have a C/F Hood w/ hood pins...on another note, do all C/F hoods need hood pins & if so, would I be able to have that setup (C/F OEM style hood w/ GT4 Bumper)?

no

Teh Celica sleeps for Winter '06. Suspension overhaul begins........
the bumper will sit higher than the hood therefore making it hard to open, if you got a gt4 hood you would also need the gt4 hood latch because of the scoop! i supose you could make it work either way!! theres nowt like a challenge smile.gif
the raised bump on the gt4 bumper will make the oem hood sit on the rasised section. As such ull have a gap on each side of the hump that will look like two scoops and ur hood will not sit flush with the sides of ur fenders. Plus ur latch wont be long enought to engage and will have to be extended

in order to get it to fit ull have sqwish ur gt4 bumper down or cut into it so that way the hood will clear the bumper with out hitting where the bolts to the bumper would normally attact to the radiator suport.

another thing u can do is make vertical cuts next to the scoop on the front of the gt4 bumper and take out the angled/raised areas. use a heat gun to soften it up and make the scoop flush with the rest of the bumper then fiber glass where needed.
