1jzgtte? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #41477 20 posts Started by mycelicagt
would the 1jzgtte fit in a gt, what mods would need to be done to get it to fit?
you could buy a supra for cheaper than doing that swap.

2000 Celica GTS 'slowest gts evar'1998 Mazda 626 FS-DE/CD4-E
too make a long story short: cut the firewall or extend the front end, motor mounts, driveshaft, new rearend suspension and axles, and dont forget the engine is a little steep in price as well etc.. though anything is possible with the right amount of $$$...with the money you would spend on that swap you could have a sick 3sgte swap with alot of extras on it.

the 1JZGTE will need plenty of modification to fit in a MKVI Celica.. It would an easier task with a MKII and MKIII Supra, and Cressida

note: Toyota doesnt add a letter for each of their turbo o.O [Unlike Nissan]
I personally think that the swaps are pretty pretty much the same. I mean, we're looking at around 10,000 dollars worth of investment into BOTH swaps. MKIII 1JZGTTE engine costs 800 alone where as the ST205 3SGTE engine costs 1500 alone. You need to swap out tranny for both swaps anyways. As well as ECU for both and need to change both to RWD or AWD wuteve swap you prefer. Also, custom wiring and mounting. The hell? The investments are practically pretty much the same.

Well if you did you would know that if you go 3sgte you don't need custom mounts or AWD. And if you do the swap yourself it can be done for anywhere from $3000 to $5000 depending on what you do. And depending on what parts you have to buy. For $10,000 you could add a lot of goodies and get your 3s pushing some good power.

That's the thing. I don't have a 5SFE tranny. And yes, I want that AWD power for better traction and pickup. And also, I can put the engine in myself but I don't know how to do the wiring at all wutso ever. So yeah, its gonna cost me a few. But I am really saving up like 8000 for the swap. I'm thinking I might as well drop a 1JZGTTE or a 2JZGTTE and make it RWD.

See what I mean? Might as well do a JZ.

Doesn't fit PERIOD. The unibody is too narrow to mount transverse... it is possible to do a RWD conversion but would require a completely fabricated firewall and steering system (not even mentioning the rear-end work). Unless you're building a race car... or have unlimited amounts of money... quit dreaming. The JZ engines aren't even all that...

TOYOTAPARKING ONLY all others will be crushed...P®¡n©iހMBmarvi75@hotmail.comSOPHIA & EZEQUIEL are my life!! I love them!!
A "AWD" Conversion would be well over 8K. Fabrication is your enemy in here. Also would it be strong in the end? You dont want a AWD beast.. that shatters like glass at WOT
