.....apart from the fact that you could tell all your mates that you have a supercharger and turbocharger on one engine? lol wink.gif , seriously though their must be performance advantages such as no lag whatsoever. The old Lancia delta groub B rally cars had them, and the reason I asked was because I read an article on a new VW (Golf or polo I think) with a twincharged engine.

So sorry, I thought you meant twin turbo. Yeah a SC and a turbo has tons of benifits. I remember the v6 mr2 that was twin charged and it was sweet!
there was also a v8 powered twin-turbo st185 i've seen on another forum.. that was pretty cool.

Bloody hell! - anyone tried anything that radical in the 6th gen celica?

i toyed with the idea for a while....but i was going to do a very "ethnic" setup.

twin charging (btw, i had no idea there was a name for it, i was going to call it dual-stage forced induction) would have a few benefits, including more degrees of tuneability, pro/con offsets (turbo lag offset by consistent boost from sc, power-leech from sc offset by turbo, etc)....

but it would be six hells of expensive and a logistical nightmare. piping, intercooling, charger locations, multiple redundant gauges....yadda yadda.

it would be cool in a maybach kind of way, i.e. only because at the end of the day, it's completely ludicrous. biggrin.gif

do you know who i am, mr. worley?
It has been done. :-)

There is a Twin charged MR2 kit, old now...

There was (is?) an MR2 with a V6 & trd sc + a turbo. MR6 smile.gif
It was written up in Turbo magazine.

Twin charged Mini kits are out.

I don't know how reliable it would be, really complicated to diagnose an air leak ? laugh.gif

This sounds interesting.... probably will do it in the future.

omfg. the wrx kit is 10k. 10k, people. i am in shock. if you have anywhere near that amount of money, you should be driving a 1000hp supra, not a celica.

note that the majority of the cars above were show cars, not cars that get driven much.

edit: H8DC3lica94, i gather that you have more money and technical knowledge than anyone on this forum. i salute your efforts in making even a 3sgte swap look like childs play.

I apologize if people mistake this pic to be my motor. THIS IS NOT MY MOTOR. well not yet anyways. i wish. But coomer placed the link to find the site where this was taken. But due to the crappyness of geocities hosting, people are unable to get into the site. So i just provided a pic of how a twincharge system can be done on the 4age that isnt too costly.

A decient 1000 rwhp Supra will cost you more than 10K to build. Way more.
