Dash wiring harness burning again. - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #41709 6 posts Started by My2Celi
So i was driving today hoping what i fixed was a done deal. For those that don't know here the post. I found where it was burning from and its the white wire from the cruise control box. Now would it be the cruise control box shorting itself or what? Also my cluster says that my cruise control was on and i try turning it off it wont. I traced the white wire from the cruise control box and it leades to the big huge fuse box with a bunch of wires on the driver kick panel. Whats your opinion on shorting? o btw when i disconnect the cruise control box it works perfect, but if i put it bak on it'll start smoking my whole car.

does anyone have an idea whats causing the cruise control part to burn?

a short circuit in the wiring or the unit itself.

the wires arent touchin nothing i think its the unit itself. but im not sure. i open up the cruise control box and it looks fine.

whats the resistance through the unit? hint, buy a multimeter.

how do i go by testing it? like turn on the car while the box is plugged in and put the multimeter on the wire?
