Topic #41757 9 posts Started by WannabeGT4
The swap's almost done and I've got a tank full of 87 octane. What is everyones opinion on running just 6-7psi with the T-VSV capped off.

shouldn't you run like 93oct if ya boosted?

87 is too low for a boosted car kindasad.gif risking detonation isn't fun....
how much is in there?

you can drive it carefully to use up the gas, but do NOT boost at all.

You know what guys nevermind... This is an RC ECU so I think I'm going to be on the safe side and just drain it... unless you guys think adding a 1/4 tank of 110 octane would do the trick.

Of course you can use it. The ECU will compensate for any octane induced knock you get and retard timing. Its not a big deal. Just dont boost hard. Its probably what you want to do anyway for the first several miles. Also, if you have a good intercooler, you might not even get knock response.

BTW, did you actually get the AT working with the 3S?

dont try to drain it. just drive the car normally. like greening said, the ecu will compensate for it. you probably have a new clutch in there, so you can ride it out, boost free while the clutch breaks in. just dont do any WOT runs.

I'll just be careful I guess.
