whats the difference from the GT and the GT-S other than GT-S isnt sold in the US?

this has been discussed a few times before. The general concensis is that it is not about having all of the options, it's that the GT-S has the sport suspension package.

I have seen the GT-S in Nebraska. Although it could be imported it seems like a lot of work to import and plate a vehicle in Nebraska just to have a few more options...

so far, all the GT-S models i've looked at had most of the good stuff, like leather, abs, a/c, sunroof, sport suspension and 8 spkr system.
the GT models had them as options i guess. for example, my sister's GT has no leather, 4 spkr stereo, no a/c, no abs but has a sunroof.

I still belive GT-S celicas were made for US market too... I also belive difference between GT and GT-S celica is just in Toyota specification of grade (one is ST and second one is GT). That means you can find sunroof, ABS, leather seats in GT and also in GT-S... Question is what is that "sport package"... Better brakes? Hmm... more info from more members needed (every US convertible has all disc brakes and no ABS?). Only one chance is collect more info about that... there must be some key.

i dont think there is much of a difference.... maybe some small standard additions.... 6 speaker package is standard in gts, but not GT
you would have to contact toyota... cant really go based on what you own because options can be added at the dealer.
funny thing is we have the GTS, GT and the ST up here.

i thought that teh GT and the GT-S were the same cars. all the things that was listed was basically "dealer options" well atleast thats wut i think, cos in canada they have honda civic SIR which is equivilent to the US SI models.........

my GT is loaded with every option 
I work at Toyota and I see not major different in the GT and GTS. I remember in the older modles of the celica they threw in the MR2 motor. in this generation just small options that realy it I can pull up more information at work when I have time
