I have been here for 4 years, and I have never been warned or put on review, but the one time I question the reasoning behind someones review I get put on review? I mean all I was saying in my topic was that the"MODS" need to stop being hypocritical and act like a person in their position should. Not be rude or disrespectful

Yeah people are morons and stupid, but its your job in your position to over look that and not respond back rudely or disrespectfully. Theres been some rude comments from you guys lately and if its really bothering you that much, then step down or take time off from being a mod... a stressed mod is not a good mod... I'm not saying that you all are doing a bad job I think you're doing good and I know this board can piss the hell outta you.. I'm just saying if you need a break, take one. there is nothing wrong with that...

Stupid, and morons are not two words to use. We here more to regulate the exceptional few that like to challenge the rules and push buttons.

Anyway, you are correct, you are here to regulate, and that INCLUDES yourselves. Thats all I am getting at is that you the "MODS" need to set the example of how posting in a forum should be and if you do screw up, own up to it and apologize in the thread... People will follow suit..

Also, as a person with authority, you should NEVER EVER have to stoop to someones level to get your point across. And let me tell you, insulting someone is definitly not the way to do it. To get your point across you are going to just have to be more creative with it... thats called good leadership and thats what MODS are supposed to be. Leaders

ryan had been warned before, and after him asking me SEVERAL times to take him off mod preview, i did, and told him to keep posting the way he had been while he was on mod preview, and he'd have no problem.
he insisted on coming into MY thread, and trying to start crap, right after i took him off, if anything THAT was the insult.
me telling him to GTFO wasnt an insult or derogetory in anyway, it was a statement. period.
he had no need to be in there, posting what he did.
i didnt put him or john on mod preview, but, i CAN tell you ryan wont be off this time for a LONG time.

Jeremy - You're right. I'm sorry I stooped to the childish level of a few members. I should'nt have done it. Next time, I will take the proper action.


Dan - Notice how its the same people complaining (except Jeremy). They have this idea they can come on here and act like complete Jackasses disregarding other members feeling or opinions, without negative consiquenses. Its only when they get in trouble, warning or mod preview. Then all this stuff comes up.

Was it cuz I struck another nerve in that thread where I laughed at how everyone bows to the mods? cuz that's when you previewed me. You act as if I seriously dissed another board member, granted i did in the past, sure. But I didn't this time. You know what makes me honestly laugh though, is that you guys keep talking about it. You keep bringing it up. It's like it affects your real lives, and that is quite sad. But don't worry, I'll stay on preview if that's what the royalty around here wants.

You are incorrect. You did "diss" another member, me. As I explained this to you already. I went into that thread cleaned up all the BS and arguing going on. Gave everybody a verbal warning. From that point on if anybody screwed up it was on them. I gave everybody in that thread a second chance.
At that point you had not even posted in this thread. You Ryan, had nothing to do with that thread.
After I posted a verbal warning.
You came in and posted a picture and made smart comments about the moderating going on. Basically mocking what I was doing.

The next day I come into the same thread to see relentless garbage and BS being posted. After I clearly ask everybody to clean up thier acts. You deliberately made that post, just to push buttons. This is why you are where you are right now.

If you were mature in the way you address me in your PM's, I could explain this to you. I guess maybe you need a couple of days to cool down.

Believe me, I'm not the one that keeps bringing this up. I just have to defend myself everytime it is.

I tend to disagree with the use of GTFO. It's way over used and people are ignoring it. I beleive as a mod you need to be able to communicate with out using terms like GTFO or rude/ disrespectufl comments whether its your thread or not. You guys HAVE to set the example.

Think about when someone is pissed at you, what do you listen to more somone yelling or someone who comes over and is calm and tells you in a calm what the you srewed up?? If you're like most people its the latter cause you people actually listen when someone is calm. When people start to yell or say things like GTFO, others go on the defensive...

My thoughts and I think this honestly will work, is if you actaully tell people in the thread that "Hey what you said was rude/ disrespectful and uncalled for, you should apologize to (whoever)" Calling them out in a calm manner in front of everyone is good cause of the peer pressure effect(no one wants to look like an asshole really). The good part of this is that everyone will see what is acceptable and what isnt', cause honestly some people have no idea what they are saying is disrespectful or rude....

My 2 cents on how to improve the quality and friendliness of this site that has been missing for a while... But it has to start with Manny and Jeff as the example... and if you need another mod, then add one to assist you two; cause honestly this is a lot of work

BTW, I'm not really defending anyone in my case. Just stating my point on how we can improve the boards and who it has to start with

Maybe it's not my place, but I would like to say something. I have been here a long time. A very long time, and I have to agree with Jeremy.

And also Ryan in this case. I too feel as though the moderators here are looked at as "gods" of sort. IMO, I think it's quite ridiculous. There is one person in particular that sucks up (for lack of use of a better term). Sure, the moderators are the highly respected members. But IMO I believe that sometimes they abuse their so-called power. I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in particular. I'm just speaking in general terms.

A couple of years ago, the boards were not at all like this. The only one who really caused a so-called problem was Andason. If anyone remembers him. And now it seems like everyone and their mother is getting put on mod-preview for small things. Maybe I don't know the full story, but I think it's quite childish. And when people get "pushed" of course they are going to rebel and cause more trouble.

Now, this is just my opinion. And I used to feel secure about posting my opinion on here. But now I feel like if I post it, people will have a grudge of sort against me. But that doesn't matter right now. I'm hoping that some of you will get my point.

You know that I love all of you. But let's face it.. things have gotten a bit out of hand.

If we didnt warn people for little things, they would continue to push the envelope further and further. We are the reason why we dont members like Andason here anymore. We stop it before it happens. It sucks I know, some of these people are your friends some of them are mine. But, If you log onto these boards to screw around and act like a jackass. We are going to shut them down. This is a place to discuss the 6th generation Celica. Thats it. More recently it has become an afterschool hangout. This place should be informative and inspired members to modify thier car. Not accumulate posts.


Hopefully we'll see a turn around.
