But why get OEM struts for that kind of money? For that money you could get full Tein coilovers.

Installing the GR-2s on our Celis really isn't that difficult...I'd bet that you could do it yourself.

But if not, you could buy the GR-2s and bring them to a shop and let them install them for you...I can do it in just a couple hours for all four corners, so if a shop says it will take any longer than three hours, then go elsewhere.

But really, it's not difficult to do it yourself. The suspension-related how-to articles and all the threads on here will be of help, and if you've got any questions you know we're here to help. But whatever you do, don't pay $1300 for something that should cost $200.

It is easy, but if you don't have the right tools its not Easy at all.
IF you dont have the time to buy tools and play mechanic just take it to a shop and have them install them for you.

Very easy to do I've pulled my struts multiple times to change setups. the only thing you need to worry about is the stock spring tension. It can really hurt you. They have special tools to clamp the spring so once you remove the retaining nut you can release the spring slowly, so no one gets maimed! Shops have machines for this and takes like 5 minutes each, once you have the srut assembly removed. If you have lowering springs on already there is no tension, and once the strut is fully extended (by lifting the car) the spring will be loose. Do it yourself and take your time and be proud of what you've accomplished. At the most take the strut assembly to a shop to loosen the stock spring if you don't want to purchase the tools. You dont even have to do this on 6gc's. The spring tension isnt that much to warrent. I did all mine buy just being safe and careful. The backs are under no pressure at all, and the fronts pop up about 6 inches. Thats it. Just loosen the top bolt on the strut plate and keep your head back as your doing it. You'll be ok.

Yeah, people can do almost anything to their car if they wanted to. It's just a matter of time to know HOW to and if you HAVE the tools that is needed. You don't want to be yanking on a heavy torqued bolt for an hour or two. Power drills are your friend.
