>>It's that time of year again! The last couple years the calendar has been a success, and this year it should be better than ever! biggrin.gif

>>How to Enter>>
>>1. Go to http://www.6gc.net/cal2007.php.

2. Upload your photos.>
>

That's all there is to it. Files are automatically linked to your user details and are automatically resized so that you can see a preview. If you see the preview image, you can be sure that your photo was uploaded successfully. If you upload an image and it gives you an error message, follow the instructions in that error message, or post here if you're unsure what it means. If you upload an image and it says it's successful but the preview image doesn't show up or is black, post here so I can help you.

Rules:
Don't post photos in this thread. It's for calendar discussion only.
Don't email me your photos...they won't make it into the pool of entries.
Photos must be scenic...no people in the photos please.

Please have your entries uploaded by November 15th. Photos will be narrowed down somewhat by me, and then the remaining entries will be voted on, this year with a better voting system when the time comes.

Thanks guys! This year's calendar is going to be great! So get out and start shooting and uploading! biggrin.gif>

Yeah, you can't submit more than fifteen.

Hey Coomer, we don't have to worry how big it is. when you upload them to you they resize to that size?
Can I enter since I owned my car for over half the year?

Files must be under 8mb. But no, nothing is resized, except for the small preview image.

1024x768 is the minimum allowed, but most likely that'd be too small.

You don't. Enlarging a picture to make it large enough will reduce the quality too much.

You need to shoot with a camera capable of shooting in high resolution (pretty much any decent digital camera) and be sure it's set to shoot in full resolution.

are we aloud to submit pictures of 2 or more members?? Aka, a picture of me and Nader's car?

I suppose so, sure. But if there are only a couple submissions with multiple cars, then they'd probably be ignored in favor of photos of single cars, in order to keep things consistent throughout the months. So I'd submit photos of multiple cars, and of just your car. smile.gif

And I'm happy to inform you all that we already have 88 entries...this year's calendar is going to be awesome! biggrin.gif

88?! man, my chances of getting in are pretty slim.

Keep in mind that almost everyone has multiple submissions...the number of users who have actually entered photos is far less, and no-one will be in the calendar twice, so your chances aren't as bad as they may seem...everyone has a chance. smile.gif

Look at Coomers signature. Everyone should go to the nicest place in their area and snap one high resolution picture and send that in. It would be easier to shrink the pictures to the right size than to enlarge it.

And another thought I had that might help with your project might be to have the users just upload the pics to another picture sharing site, and have whoever is doing the project look through the links. Saves space for this site. Coomer can just PM whoever wins and get them to send the good picture. Just a thought though.

No-one needs to shrink pictures, or enlarge them.

And space doesn't concern me...these photos will all be removed when the calendar stuff is done...it's much easier for me to get all of the photos in high-res right now on my own server. smile.gif

Can photos tweaked by photoshop be entered. Just a silly question but just to make things clear I guess for everyone.

Maybe...if they're just slightly color corrected or something that's fine...but I'd prefer to have them unaltered so that I can correct color and curves and such myself.
