well im designing gloves for my engineering project and need to take a survey to complete this project so let me know what everyone thinks
mechanix gloves - 6G Celicas Forums
i have the original gloves and i like them. they could be tighter. thats the only thing i feel that could be changed.
mechanix gloves are good and offer alot of different types of gloves, but being an aircraft and auto mechanic I can see some places for improvement.
1. Chemical resistant.... I'm always soaking my gloves in hydraulic fluid or jp5 (jet fuel) and then I can't use them until they get washed because you can't let your hands soak in fuel.
2. more durable but thinner padding.... fighter jets are very tightly packed and I'm always getting my gloved hands stuck, but if I take off my gloves my hands will get cut up badly!
3. better finger tip material... alot of times I work blind with my arm shoved shoulder deep in the jet so I have to feel the small peices in my hands. So something durable so they don't wearout quickly like gloves now, yet very thin so it feels like my finger tips are touching the work.
Hope this helps... Let me know if you come up with something.

I voted, "i donno, i dont wear gloves" because i dont. There is a reason for this though.
All the gloves ive used/worn, have been to clumsy (not as "skin tight")
They also dont allow you to do fine things...(by fine i mean, screwing a small nut onto a bolt, by hand, to start it.)
Coldbluesteel covered it. Thats what id look for in a pair of gloves. (maybe not the chemical resistance, but hey, u never know.)

i like them, but i wish the fingertips were more durable and more burn-proof. i bumped a header bolt and burned a hole in the glove and just plain wore through 2 fingers in about 2 months.

only differences i'd like to see are more durable fingertips like others are saying as well.

i got a set of clc gloves from home depot...they're nice for keeping clean and not burning the $h!t out of your hands sometimes, but you can't feel anything through them and they really don't enhance grip at all.
do you know who i am, mr. worley?
