2nd Gen To 6th Gen Engine - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #42109 8 posts Started by GMoney
hey guys my 2nd gen engine is now gone ... my tuner told me that i needed new pistons , new crankshaft ...and a whole lot of other parts , so i am suggesting that i should get a new engine but to i don't want to go back to the same 2nd Gen 3SGTE ..... So i was thinking of buyin a 6th Gen 3SGTE , which will then have much more horsepower and will be newer .... but wat i want to kno is ....has this been done , everyone so far is puttin 2nd Gen's In. Is there any problem with fitting the 6th Gen in the ST202 celicas ?
Cause i want to use the same gear box , is that also possible ?
Sorry but there is no such thing as 6th gen 3sgte. Do you mean a 3rd gen 3sgte, the 3rd gen is what is in the st205. 2nd gens are in st185/5th gen celica.
4th gen is Caldina, thats about as high as it goes.
Are you talking about body style I assume???

The ST205 is the engine that I believe came in the newest GT4's.
St205 is the chassis code not the engine, the newest gt4's were st205's with 3rd gen 3sgte's.
He meant to say 6th gen Celica 3S-GTE. Which is a 3rd gen 3S-GTE. Putting in a 3rd gen 3S-GTE into a 6th gen Celica has been done before. Go for it if you have the money for it.

Eh, not true if you're saying that broadly. The newest GT-Four is the ST215 Caldina which has a 4th gen 3S-GTE. Now if you say the newest Celica GT-Four is the ST205, then thats correct. biggrin.gif
