Awhile back when I first bought my Celi and joined this site, I posted some pics of interior things I needed to work on. Two of the pics, which I am reposting below, were of a broken left hinge from my driver's seat. Does anybody know whether it's possible to just buy a new hinge and replace it? Anybody got a part number for it? I appreciate the help a lot, thanks

AS YOU PERSONALY KNOW I CHANGED MY SEATS (THE LEATHER INSERTS) AND I HAD A HELL OF A TIME TAKING THE SEATS APART. I BELIEVE (NOT 100%) THAT THE HINGE'S BOTTOM PART YOU CAN REMOVE, BUT THE TOP IS ONE PIECE THAT RUNS ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE SEAT. iLL DOUBLE CHECK WHEN I GET HOME FROM WORK. (I HAVE AN EXTRA SEAT [AS U ALSO KNOW] WITH THE BASE AND ALL THAT)

Yea, I thought about that. I figured if I found out it was replaceble then maybe I'd get the guts to ask you if you could send just the replaceable part And if you had tossed it or something I'd go looking for one. Thanks for looking

I looked at mine, (I only just got it back from the kid I sold my fist car to, because he was keeping it in his trunk...long story) it's so confusing...I want to rip the seat apart to figure it out, but I might need it, lol

u see that peice that appears as if its broken off? well it is...but what is insane is how LARGE that piece is. It goes around the spindle that allows the back of the seat to recline then springload back up. its about 3 to 4 inches in diameter...and it has that bracket coming off it...which u/someone else managed so sheer right off....holy crap. u need a new seat. end of discussion


(ps if u want a photo of what it actually looks like, post a yes or just pm me, kinda busy at the moment, but later i can get u one)

oh, when you took the seat apart, how did you get that plastic handle to angle the seat forward and back off? or did you not need to do that?

when u remove the side plastic. that handle (im assuming u mean then one that reclines the seat) is presure fit onto a metal knub that is connected to the mechanism. When u take the outside plastic cover off, ull see. 3 screws hold it on.

or Batman722 has stock gray leather seats he won't be needing anymore. the drivers side has a tear in it but it's better than what you have now. maybe he'll sell them to you for a good price

u just missed snapshotgt was selling his for like $500 for the set of 2. someone on the site got them.

lol...RECLINE...yes, that was the word I was looking for, I was rushing to get to class

yeah, I might have been able to snag the seats, but shipping to here kills, $500 plus around $300 to ship would have sucked balls...

My stepdad is offering to help me find someone to try to weld that piece back together, I don't know if I trust it or not...that's why I kinda want to see what it looks like...

the idea of racing seats is sounding tempting, esp. since I just got a check for the scholarship money I didn't use this year (woot! nothing like pimpin your car with scholarship money!)...AND since I've realized that when I start teaching in 2 years there is NO WAY I'm going to leave my Celi in the teacher's parking lot, lol...so I'll be getting a new DD when I start teaching, which means I can really go all out on this car and keep it in hiding until weekends roll around, lol...

still the issue with shipping >< maybe I can bring them back in pieces when I visit Cali in December, lol...

I actually have a spare set of seats (or at least some seat parts), I might have that piece. I will look tonight and get some pics.

Yeah, a few people mentioned that you had some seats lying around now. What would you want for them, out of curiosity? (I've been looking at some Corbeau seats which I would buy along with their brackets made to fit a Celica...but its already up to 600 bucks without shipping.... I'm debating whether I want it that bad.

Devilsden, I got the other plastic peice off the other side of the seat, and I see what you mean by it actually being a pretty big peice. It looks almost broken through on the other side too...so yeah, Batman, I'm not gonna ask you to take apart the seats for me, lol...but I will ask how much you would want for them

Errrrrgggg...broke a bottom peice on one side, and all the handling of the seat with a broken hinge twisted off a top piece on the other side. I give up, I need a new seat...
