ABS question - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #42220 5 posts Started by taras_GT
Hey. I bought a 1994 Celica this summer and have started upgrading it when I realized I've got no ABS! The whole thing makes me sad as there's nothing worse than not being able to stop in time.

What to do? Ideally, I'd prefer to fit an ABS from a scrap car, but heard that it won't be so easy and cheap... Is an upgaded brake set (disks, calipers, hoses) the way out? Anything else you would advice?

Thanks guys!

upgrading the rotors, pads, and getting some SS braided lines will help a lot.

fitting an ABS system into your non-ABS car will be very difficult.

it would be a huge pain in the ass to try to fit abs on an none abs celica. your dealing with lots of wiring, abs ecu, actuator, expensive speed sensors and tons of hydraulic lines

abs wont help you stop better, it helps you in emergency situations to keep your brakes from locking up.

it'd be cheaper and easier to just trade in for one with ABS. if you drive carefully on bad road surfaces you should be OK without ABS.

It's weird that in has no ABS installed. The holes in the body are there, but the rest is missing kindasad.gif
