damn i hate to say it but i think im selling my celica for a great deal, imo. my buddy is selling his rust free 240sx to me for 2K. im struggling financially with hospital bills and what not so if i can sell my celica for 4.5K then ill be good and spend 2K on the 240sx hatch. maybe i could trade it up for something nicer. hehe jk. but any thoughts? who has own a 240sx? and how did you like it? reliable? im not sure at this point but just want some opinions before doing it or whatever.

i have an s14 with and rb25 and i love it....rwd torque monster ftmfw. However..2k for a rust free hatch depending on year and miles isn't that great of a deal. B4 my s14, i had a rust free hatch(still see it everyday, sold it to my friend) and i feel that i paid way to much for it, 1590 all said and done. 89 hatch, 116k miles, 5spd....so ya, idk if u can get this person to drop the price, mabe pick it up. As far as realiablity they aren't to bad...eat rear brakes up all day, have been know for the gas gauge to not work from time to time...my buddy burns out his mani to turbo gasket all the time on his sr...idk basically if u abuse the car, it's gonna break, but thats the same with any car...if u have any specific questions post or pm and i can help you out

well the car has like 200K+ miles but engine has been totally rebuilt in and out. it looks very nice and new with no leaks or anything. no rust at all. very clean. i like coupes but i couldn't refuse the deal. i've seen them with rust go for 3K around my area. there are so many people out there that are willing to trade for such nice cars like for ex: my friend traded his 91 240sx hatch for a 98 gsr..hehe nice! i dont know much about nissan. i've been with toyota all my life. its a 5spd with all power options. i think ill go stock for now and just drop it later and sell it. dont know. how does it handle?

i had a 1990 240sx as my first car and i must say it handled A LOT better than a celica, stock to stock. a bit quicker too, and fun to drive. never really had too many problems with it.

2k is not a bad deal i would go for it

Anyways, back on topic. I used to have a 240sx hatch and it handled very well. What year is the one your looking at? I sold mine so i could get a coupe, but ended up getting the Alltrac instead. $2k is ok, but my friends have been buying them up for around $1600 or less these days.

i dont want to deal with rust at all...i hate rust. so the alltrac is out of the picture. the 240sx doesn't have the looks but i wanna try something new. i wanted a coupe with the s13 or whatever headlights. it looks good. but a hatch would suit me well. i believe the one im getting is a 91. dohc or whatever. i dont know. but hey a no rust 240sx with totally rebuilt engine, you can't go wrong.

haha we are 2 very different people here. for me i've owned a mr2 turbo and it doesn't handle as well as my celica. i drove my friend's 240sx stock and doesn't handle as well. i drove my inlaw's 240sx redtop sr20 and it was aight. that's why i gave up on my mr2 turbo and went back to my celica days. hehe but yeah right now, i want to try something new. then maybe later go on and import a real st205. i dont want to drive a fake fwd celica. hehe jk.

dang a few problems came up and i guess i can't get the 240sx. i guess ill have to sell the celica to get the problems resolved. my wife quit her job and now im gonna have a problem paying for school and a few things. man this sucks.

theres a 240 around here that has a LS1 motor and that thing is a beast
