Video game can't simulate all the different driving conditions we live on. I highly suggest you don't make any final conclusions on how a car will react based on a video game. While it may be true in some cases, in other cases it won't be.

obviously, but Forza has very realistic driving physics so I can at least deduce that it will at least be somewhat similar.

Eh...you can go with that. Best way to know is to put yourself in that same situation again but in a wide open space. Sometimes I go out with my Celica and try stupid stuff to learn how the car will react. Of course I do this with no one around for me to crash into. Although one time I decided to hit the e-brake in the middle of a 3-lane road. I ended up sliding left sideways, then sliding right slideways, then spinning out facing the opposite way almost hitting the median in the process. Good thing no one was around. biggrin.gif

you're right. maybe the day before I get new tires I'll go slide around an empty parking lot for a while to learn how to control my car.

Just be very careful and make sure no one is around. I cannot stress that enough. I don't want to see you make a new topic saying, "I got caught sliding in a parking lot by the cops".

not like they could do anything, most parking lots are private property. so unless the owners call the cops on me, I don't see that happening... but I'll make sure it's a secluded parking lot away from people. like business parking lots on a weekend or something. I dunno, but I'll be sure no one is around.

tell me you didnt show up to the meet after that?
ya that stinks, but im glad it didnt turn out to bad.

yeah, I went to the meet after that... where the guy in the evo I was following just laughed at me, then went on to tell other people, and it spread like wildfire and everyone there was talking about it and I just overheard bits and pieces like "dumbass ricer in a celica..." I didn't stay long though. there wasn't much interesting to see. just a bunch of S2000s and 7th gen celicas mostly.

oh, and for the record I wasn't trying to race the evo, he was just driving pretty fast but not flooring it, so I tried to catch up (by flooring it...) If I had AWD like him, I probably wouldn't have had such a sudden loss of traction like I did.

So, I went to the norcal JDM theory meet. I was one of 2 6gcs there, but if anyone goes on any other car forums, particularly evo forums, you'll probably hear about some "dumbass ricer in a celica"

coming off the freeway onramp only a matter of blocks away, I was trying to keep up with the EVO in front of me who was going pretty damn fast. well, somewhere around 60-70 mph on this 35mph offramp my car car lost traction and I started sliding FF drift style. now, all of a sudden the weight transfer throws my car in the total opposite direction, the car jumps over a curb, and according to my friend driving behind me, all four wheels were over a foot of the ground at one point. I flew over the small dirt embankment (a good 3ft drop.) and was now going the wrong way on a one way onramp... lucky for me there were no other cars coming that direction. anyway, I pulled over in a parking lot to examine the damage. honestly, there is some scratches on my front bumper, and the center crossmember is pretty scratched, other than that, no damage. I was EXTREMELY lucky. I was also the laughing stock of the entire show. but I'm alive, and my car is alive. and I think I'm going to start driving more careful now.

the end. go ahead. criticize me, I deserve it.

dont worry about it, most of us have been there before, and if no one says they haven't they are lying to themselves...u live and learn

Just saw this on Ford and I thought it would be nice to have a sticker. It says

"2 Slow , 2 Furious" or Too slow, too furious for anyone that did not get it the first time.

Trying to catch up with any kind of car that was built completely differently is always a no-no. The reason is that you try to "follow the leader" but the car in front of you reacts differently to different circumastances. Therefore, for example the car in front may be able to take a turn at 50 but your car may go off the road at 35 on the same turn.
man, i do reccommend expending your tires before you get new ones.

learn how your car handles, what to do at certian points.

my point is most of us have had some close calls, and we handle them better the next time we are in the situation. it is good to see what exactly your car can do.

sweet story, i wish i had it on camera, i was going straight, and a lady was turning into me (probbally going 20-both of us, thru an intersection). i knew she was going to clip me, so i yanked the E-brake and threw the wheel left D-shifted and she missed me, i somehow pulled it out and continued through the intersection! haha

and i would have NEVER thought of that, or pulled it off if i hadnt wasted rubber messing around after work with my buddies on e-brake slides. i would have a big dent in my rear end and a lady feeling retarted.

what i would do to get a video of it.

ya, but definately if you can learn you car a little more, its educational and pretty fun.
how come you compare a integra type r to a 240?
why not a base 240 to a base integra?
make even comparasions

Fine.

Base 240SX vs. Base Integra = I don't know. Both are ghey.
240SX SE vs. Integra Type R = ITR FTW.

Happy now?

Hey 6strngs, I forgot to ask. During your attempt to capture the EVO, did you at any moment hear any squealing from your tires?

not until traction was gone and I was more or less powersliding I think, I don't really remember any before then.
