Just picked up a 95 GT Convertible, and the stereo wiring harness is a single 15p connector, not the usual 2 connectors like in other toyotas. I'd like to convert the two connector style and have the parts to do so, because I can't find a conversion harness for the 15p connector at local stereo/electronics shops.
Can anyone direct me to which wires go where? I noticed many are the same colors without stripes, so I'm confused and can't do it on my wits anyone.
Thanks,
John
in my 98 GT Hatch I have the premium factory system and I was told that there wasnt a harness that I would have to hard wire everything to my deck so i did.
In my opinion hard wiring is better because you can get THICKER better quality wire which means the power will be going to your speakers more efficiently there for better cleaner sound.
I found out that the typical 2 connector wiring plugs were right under amp. So I don't get to use it, but at least everything plugs right in and works.
Hardwiring the whole car would certainly improve things if it had a system, but its my dad's car. As long as it plays Jim Nabors, Glen Campbell and The Doodletown Pipers, he won't notice 12ga vs 20ga.
Thanks.
John
I posted this a while back. At the bottom is a like for the scosche TA02 harness kit for $5. It comes with two plugs but you only use one.
