Just tried the Wii tonight at my local mall, apparently the top 25 malls in the states gets to try them out..

My impressions - awesome. Zelda was sweet, although, somewhat difficult to control when you're first starting out. Excite truck was pretty cool too.

Wii Sports was pretty nice, the tennis was the most fun out of all of them. The controllers themselves feel somewhat flimsy, but you quickly get over that as you're trying to learn how to play.

They didn't have Red Steel to play, but I also got invited to some kind of Wii launch party in downtown Chicago, should be pretty cool.

But im in for the Wii sports and well as the new Zelda: Twilight princess. Most game review sites have given it the highest ratings possible, ranking it better than the wind waker and Orcina of time

ya im going to get a wii and twilight princess. will try to get one at launch but im not going to camp or anything, if i have to wait a few weeks i dont mind. i think the wii is really going to be a hit, with the second wave of games really starting to show off the controller and its capabilities. the launch games were rushed, started development on gamecube hardware, and it was the first time developers used the controller. for $250 its a great deal. the 360 is $399 and with the $100 wifi adapter (wii is wifi out of the box) youre already at twice the cost of the wii. still love my 360 though, cant wait till the spring halo 3 multiplayer demo is released XD

hmmm on second thought, should i get a wii, game or two, and an extra controller or gt-4 front bumper?

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

im not a gamer i guess...i hate video games witha passion! im going to be a mean mom and not let her kids play video games! they can watch mtv tho :-)

i wonder if the wii will be as hard to get as the ps3 this holiday. its not as popular, and i hear they have more units shipping, but on the other hand its the cheapest out of all the consoles.

There will be about 3-4 million Wii's in the US for sale, as I understand it.

There are about 150,000-250,000 total PS3's in the US. They originally projected close to half a million, but fell short because the system isn't easy to build, so Sony has to manufacture all of them in-house. So, some people who even pre-ordered the system aren't going to get one until later in the year or early next year. This is why they're selling for 2 grand on ebay.

Wii on the other hand has a different interface, better games, and some pretty solid launch titles. Zelda kicks some serious ass.

not to jack the thread, however, i was watching the gaming revolution, beginning to present. The biggest thing i got out of the whole show was the fact that microsoft lost 4 million the first year and more every year on company profit sense the first xbox came out. Ouch...Sony has done nothing but profit from the point nintendo screwed them over and went to panasonic (spelling). Hopefully we'll see a new upcoming with the Wii.

My opinion changed. After playing PS3 and realizing how badly it sucks. Xbox 360 holds a special place in my heart, but I've completely been converted onto the Wii.

nothing against sony, but they just seem to be doing everything wrong with the ps3. the ps3 uses 380 watts whereas the 360 only uses 160 watts. with the power supply inside, i dont see how this thing wont have overheating issues. huge price, tacky motioin controls (have you tried playing motorstorm with the sixaxis?), expensive games (gran turismo pay as you go), load times, expensive and a pita to develop for, the list goes on. the 360 has more proven power (GoW looks amazing), and with ps3, it could take years for developers to realize cells potential. and by that time, xbox 720 will be out. honestly i just dont see who would drop that kind of money on the ps3 unless you want a cheap bluray player.

If you guys live near a huge mall, check to see if the Wii is setup in it. Apparently the top 25 malls in the nation are getting these kiosks that I visited yesterday.

They've got excite truck, zelda, wii sports on display, fully playable demo units. Call a gamestop/eb games in the mall and ask if they've got them set up, then go in & play one.

I have a PS2 and had a PS1, but I say **** Sony with their overly expensive console and crappy games (for now).

totally agree with the price issue, however Sony is actually selling the PS3 at a loss!


If I were to pick a next-gen console it would be a 360, however the Wii does look pretty impressive, I love the innovative controllers, hopefully they pan out.

PS3 costs about 800 to manufacture. And so far the results are, they freeze after a couple hours of game play. Nice work sony!

Im not getting a wii, if i get anything next it will be the ps3. Give it a year and it will blow everything out of the water, the wii will be like the ds, cool to play but not for to long (sure not sober to)

they're selling on ebay for about $600, so i'd make about $250 if i sold, but meh.. i want mine.
