Michael Richards you broke my heart and you ruined one of my favorite television characters. You embarrassed and offended me, not only as a white man, but as just a man.

To live in such a time when great leaps of advancement in technology and medicine can show the universe how bright and charismatic we humans can be, you come about and show the world how primitive and blatantly hateful our pathetic existence is.

Seinfeld, the series, may have ended in 1998, but this past weekend was the death of Kramer and the dawning of a bigot. How sorry we all should be for what has transcended. When the sun rises tomorrow I ask we learn from Mr. Richards' hate and accept each other as what and who we are, not black, not white, just humans.

well said justin. i heard bout the news on the radio this morning.. can't believe he would say things like that

i hadnt heard anything about it...thats crazy! there is no excuse for saying stuff like that... im not sure what he said but i get the idea!! I bet he is gonna lay low for a while... *wow*
He already issued a statement on the Leno show or whatever last night. The guy was heckling him, and he lost it. Eh, I guess Im just apathetic to the whole thing, because I say the guy shouldn't have been heckling him in the first place.

Tru, but I dunno, I was still alittle shocked just to hear him yell it like that. He was pretty fired up.

Enh, **** happens wake up and realize it. Remember he is an actor not a comedian so he isn't used to being heckled. Maybe he was just having a bad day. We all have those. He shouldn't have been heckeled, the should respect him and stay silent. I've been to some comedians who suck ass, but I keep quiet cause I know damn well I can't do what they are doing.

In all honesty, until black people stop using that word in any from it will be said. If it really bothered black people that much, the term would have faded and not be in music, tv, etc...
id do the same thing he did. maybe threw punches too.... to any race tongue.gif
now that would have been cool. then make bread from their bones.

Im not racist, I dont dislike nor hate any one, of any other decent from myself.

The word ****** can be taking in many dif. ways.

****** is a slur term used to refer to dark-skinned peoples, especially people of African ancestry. Although sometimes used by Black people themselves (especially those who feel an affinity for hip hop culture) as a somewhat self-deprecating term that is suggestive of familiarity and endearment, the word is most often regarded as offensive.

At the time of the Atlantic slave trade, ****** was a casual English language term for Black people. The word later became associated with an overt contempt, a racist assumption of inherent black inferiority, making it extremely pejorative.

The Spanish word negro originates from the Latin word niger, meaning black. In English, negro or neger became negar and finally ******, most likely under influence of French nègre (also derived from the Latin niger).

In Colonial America, Neger (sometimes spelled "neggar") prevailed in northern New York under the Dutch and also in Philadelphia, in its Moravian and Pennsylvania Dutch communities. For example, the African Burial Ground in New York City was originally known as "Begraaf Plaats van de Neger."

In the United States, the word ****** was not originally considered derogatory, but merely denotative of black, as it was in much of the world. In nineteenth-century literature, there are many uses of the word ****** with no intended negative connotation. Mark Twain, Charles Dickens, and Joseph Conrad (who published The ****** of the 'Narcissus' in 1897) used the word without racist intent.

The perception of the term ****** as derogatory is no doubt related to the fact that the Black people were a race regarded by many White people of the time as inferior, lazy, simian in appearance, stupid, and criminally inclined.

Im not trying to start a fight or arguement. I do not use the word rarley, and If I do, i use it more as an ignorant person, white or black. So I do miss use it, but not the same.

I think the people that are actually laughing when he's flipping out also need some kind of help. thats not comedy im sorry.
He was just trying to keep that border between comedian and audiance by trying to be funnier than the heckler. I think comedians always have a need to be funnier than the audience. After all, thats why they get paid to be funny and the audience doesnt. Unfortunatley, he went about that the wrong way and now is facing the responsibilities that a person who is tagged a racist has to face.
I find it ironic that if a white person says anything like this everyone jumps on their backs, where as people like Kanye West can spue racist crap all day and nobody demands an official apology.
I was just suprised that no one jumped on the stage and gave him a wooping. Man, you do that kinda stuff on the street and your pretty much in for it. And yeah, those people laughing when he was going on about it, they were pretty off.
No, they just aren't pansies like the rest of them, and taking offense to everything.

They probably also realize that they were at a comedy club, that the guy started heckling the comic, and that the comic was ripping into him. It happens.

And oh my god, guess what people, sometimes, comics use racial slurs in order to provoke laughter.

I realize that's shocking, but one day you'll all have to grow up and realize it. If everytime you hear certain words you get offended, you are going to have a hard time in life. Invest in some ear plugs in order to shield yourself from reality and especially don't go to comedy clubs.

he was way out of line, and said some horrible stuff... but if you watch the video, you can clearly notice that he just lost his mind there on stage. hopefully people can forgive him for saying all that stuff.

Dave Chappelle, Carlos mencia, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock, and so on and so on.

Us Whiteys just need to learn that we arent allowed to make any type of racial slur...and they make money by doin it.

lol, you obviously are not in touch with reality. i go to comedy clubs and one of my favorite comics happens to be lewis black who singles out every type of person. but he doesnt do it by race or color.

its not what Richards said, its how he went about doing it. He singled those people out solely by their color and race. If those words and feelings are not in your heart, they won't come out of your mouth, regardless of how much you've had to drink or how mad you become.

this is just another example of where our country is in terms of racial equality. By no means was the heckler justified in calling Richards a "Cracker".

The Movie Crash relates to this type of incident.

Wow, one comedian that doesn't talk about race. I didn't say every comedian did, but a lot do. Carlos Mencia, Robin Williams, George Carlin, Daniel Tosh, etc. The list goes on. Chris Rock, Dave Chapelle, etc.

Reality is that there is hatred in the world. Tolerance is the only answer. Hating people that hate makes you no better than them. The end.

You are as much of a bigot as he is for hating him, or judging him, for what he did and said.

So, I'm not out of touch with reality, I am very much in touch. I realize there is hate in the world. I'm just thankful that I don't hate people, and I don't hate people that do. I feel sorry for those such as yourself, and many people in this thread that harbor hate for your fellow bigots.

Everyone should truely close their eyes, and imagine living in the world of slavery. It feels imaginary, but it's not. It really happened, and white people treated black people like animals.

That is why we do not use derogatory terms towards black people.

So that gives black people the right to say whatever they want about whites? On the last MTV music awards Kanye was doing a tribute to some black guy who made rap videos and he said "black film maker" what if a white guy would have been doing the tribute. There would have been an uproar. When it comes to race issues there is a double standard, and the minorites are overly sensative about everything.
guys let's not make this a back and forth racist type thing.

the way things are with black people using racist terms and the "black film maker" terms is the current culture of this country because of what had happen for over 400 years.

Honestly I don't give a crap if a any guy uses any racist term to describe someone of their own race.

it is probably will be the way it will always be because of the current culture of this country. Plain and simple.

yeah its all a double standard. id like to know exactly what the heckler said to him to get a reaction like that. two wrongs dont make a right, but at the same time, i think the heckler must have called him a cracker or something to make him start yelling like he did.

15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned
Id forgive him. Ive been upset and out of anger said things I shouldnt have when I felt people were disrespectful to me. We all say things we shouldnt and dont realize what we said till after the fact.
I threatened to kick a guys arse at dodgeball cuz he hit me in the face but didnt say sorry. I threatened to beat a "pansy tanning arse mother focker" for parking too close to my car cuz I couldnt get out cuz he left me 3 inches of room" sometimes u cant control ur mouth when ur upset and then once youve cooled down you realize it was stupid.

Cruisin down the street in my Infiniti...always lookin for my next trip to Sin City
Black comedians make fun of whites all the time, in fact, all comedians make fun of other races, all the time
Imagine a white person calling a black comedian a ni**er after the comedian made remarks about white people just like that black guy in the club called Richards a cracker? And no one is talking about that, why? Because it's far more politically incorrect to make fun of blacks than it is to make fun of whites

Total double standard if you ask me

I'm gonna have to go with South Park's reasoning on this one : Either EVERYTHING is okay or NOTHING is.
