Why would you put an F20 in a Corolla? Does it really do well? I've heard those things don't have the best bottem end, and it seems like you could build other motor choices easier than doing a hybrid.
Don't believe gospel till you try it.
You give low-end torque FAR too much credit. It's probably around 1800-2000 pounds in race trim... a 240hp engine regardless of torque is gonna move that little chassis. Besides... these are race cars... who races with high-rev engines below 4000 rpm? Techno Toy Tuning's AE86 has been featured in magazines and stuff before... and their car, their actual car... not their sponsor cars... is a beast.
Oh yeah, the hp only at high rpms is great. I understand that. I was talking about the block/crank/pistons of the F20. I have yet to build one though. And you're right, it has been pretty much gossip. I kind of figured that's what you meant to type, if not, my bad.
