HKS VPC - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #43812 3 posts Started by 6gsillyca
Has anyone ever heard of/used something called a VPC by HKS. Vein pressure converter. I guess it replaces the AFM and is also able to burn roms for different sized injectors.

Can get it from a member off a local forum for $250 CAD with a free ats TB inlet. Good deal?
No one answered this one ?

VPC's are for the MR2 and Celica turbos.
Do you have a 1st or 2nd generation 3sgte install ? (3rd gen does not have an AFM)
You would not get too big a of a hp increase with a VPC with a stock engine IMHO,
or even if HKS makes a cip for the stock engine ?

Are you going to get a harness to plug in the unit, or hard wire it in ?

They do work well when the replace the afm. Add a bit more
hp at the high end. They require a bit of retuning too.
A GCC (Graphic Control Computer) is a good way to adj fueling vs rom via knobs.

Some people have had trouble with VPC in colder climates due to the
VPC jumping thar air temp sensor with a resistor, so the ECU never sees
a Hot temps, and neither does it see a Cold temp either.

There are different chips for stock, 550's, 720, or you couold get a custom
chip burmed for any inj of your choice If you know of a tuner and can get a
dyno plot with a A/F graph. O r tune on thier duno would be Ideal.

Regards;
I had one in my Supra along with a GCC and an F-CON. It's not smoother than going with a stand-alone EMS but it gets the job done and you don't get fuel cut. It has an Idle adjusting button, and a few more, but the tuning is not very precise.
