Topic #43906 9 posts Started by Toynado
hi guys tell me has any 1 of you ever put the 20v throttle bodies on a stock 7afe. does it make power. i'm planning on putting it on now. i already got the manifold made up 4 me.
what? You already have the manifold made up for you? HUH?
It should and if not you'll at least have better throttle response
speaking of throttle bodies...is there a list of which ones from what other toyotas will swap to celica engines?

Anything throttle body or throttle bodies... is custom. Either an adaptor plate of some sort, or a custom intake manifold (in the case of ITBs).

And to answer the question... they won't do very much. Individual Throttle Bodies are designed for high rev motors... so the benefit to an engine that makes a majority of its power below 6000 rpms is negligible... but they sound wicked cool.

frown.gif that seems odd, i know on GM's, mitsu's, etc throttle bodies just swap between motors. with the plethora of toyota parts that interchange i'd think that throttle bodies would as well. i'll do some measuring next time i'm at the junkyard, no one was sure if st185 calipers and brackets would fit a 7th gen corolla till i tried it out wink.gif

Well... you never asked me... wink.gif ALL of the Toyota macphearson front spindles are very very similar and the different calipers they use are actually the same throughout their entire lineup. Of course different between trim... but the calipers will almost always swap.

Refer there for the pad #'s which indicate which cars/trim actually share the same calipers.

well the brackets arent the same but i dont doubt that the threading, spacing, and bolt sizing isnt the same. and actually i think i did as on this forum but since i dont own a celica the thread didnt go very far...tongue.gif

so i cant goto the junkyard and grab a 3sfe throttle body or 5sfe throttle body thats a little larger, port match the intake manifold to it, bolt it on, and hook what few vac lines i have upto it and expect anything better than stock huh?

and by me i dont necessarily mean me, other 7afe owners such as those with a turbo could get some better gains than the NA crowd. i know how big of a difference just 5MM difference in diameter can make.
