So all last week I was sick but it seemed like just a cold so I worked all week and felt like on Friday that just a weekend of rest would cure it. Well sunday came around and it hit hard. I woke up Monday AM at 7am and called the doc and said I needed to come in. They said they could see me in 10 mins so I hurried up there and was told I had strep. They didnt test for it but they said it looked like it so I was given medicine and told to come back Wednesday if not better. Well for 3 days now i have not been able to sleep so today I went up there and said I cant wait till 3pm to be seen I need to be seen now. THen they tested me for Strep only to find out I dont have it. So now they are thinking its mono and ill find out later if it is. So they gave me predisone and vicodine to help with the pain im in. So I just took my vicodin and im hoping that ill be asleep here soon. :-)

This blows though -

I havent slept
ive been nauseus
cant eat
cant really swallow
i have blood in my phlegm
i have a gross taste in my mouth
my neck hurts


so anyways i just felt like complaining.

Heard from the doc. Its mono. Kinda makes me mad they didnt do the test on Monday rather than assuming it was strep and treating me for that.

Vicodin seems like a good drug. Its a small dosage but its so nice to be able to relax and sleep

I had mono the last two weeks of summer before Senior year in highschool. Popsickles is what helped me get through. Once you start getting better, you are going to be very weak. You will be weak for a while too.

I thought i had strep in high school turned out to be mono, that **** put me outa commision for a little over a month.

wait im confused so how long do you guys think ill be outta work? like right now im on my pills and actually feel like in 2 days i could see myself at work. I wouldnt feel 100 percent better but i feel alot better than i did this morning. But mono is highly contagious if u havent gotten it before right? so does that mean I shouldnt go back to work till im 110 percent better?

I slept on the couch for about 1 and 1/2 weeks. Felt like crap for 2 weeks. Took a couple of months to get my fll strength back. Having mono is a horrible time, and you really should take it slow.
