My buddy owns that shop and has 2 MR2s on his own, the yellow one was there when I came. I just came to make some pics of the harnesses that Dr Tweak is doing for me so I decided to make some pics of the cars too.


One of the valves is burnt and I didn't know what should I do then I came across this 3rd gen set up that wasn't overpriced, only $1700 so I got it. I'm planning to make some money back from my 2nd gen, only LSD transmission is worth alot alone.

Well, after a month of work on weekends we finally got to start the car. At first it looked to me like total disaster, mr2 started to throw tons of smoke, sounded like its worked on 3 cylinders also it was very loud.
Found 1/4 in hole in exaust manifold, why would smone do that, so we fixed that by pluging it with bolt.
We spent 2 hours after looking why #3 cylinder is having problems working. We checked compression and it showed that all cylinders are fine, what a relief. At the end we found that resistor pack was shot so we borrowed one from yellow mr2, that was in the shop for some repairs, and it started fine, no smoke engine working very smooth.
I will take it for a test drive tommorow after replacing master clutch cylinder. Can't wait to compare 2nd gen to 3rd gen.

Drove it for 10 min today. What a difference. Floored it at 5K flies like a rocket till redline. Low end torque is huge and turbo kicks in the moment you floor it. Another words if you compare 5sfe to 2nd gen 3sgte thats how it felt if you compare 2nd usdm to 3rd gen. Also the sound of engine is slightly different.
Issues: power steering is not working, will have to trace wire for it.

looking good ! I bet thats one fun ride.

My car is still in the shop but I went out today to give it another test drive. What a difference, I was able to smoke tires at half throttle on 3rd gear while I could only chirp them on 2nd gear on my old set up. Seriously, I was afraid to drive it hard , i just need some time to get use to it.
