oil leak need help - 6G Celicas Forums

i got a new problem my friend showed my that the bolts on my valve cover were loose so i tightened it but i tightend it so much that when i took off the wrench the screw had gon through the bolt and this is what happend in my engine now anyone got those bolts?

As long as the studs are ok, you should be able to remove the nuts, clean the threads and nuts, apply some gasket sealer or rtv silicone to the threads and reassemble. Note that you also probably need new sealing washers and valve cover gasket. The nuts aren't supposed to be very tight; I would use a torque wrench to avoid damage.
for the nut, it's part # 90176-06028 about $ 1 each

and the seal washer, part # 90210-06010 about $ .50 each

don't cheap out, just pay the $6 and get new ones from Toyota wink.gif

you could get them from any local Toyota dealership, just give them the part #s. Also you could order them from an online Toyota dealership but you would have to pay shipping. You dig ?
