Oil Filter Relocation - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #44725 4 posts Started by m0dd3d1
Ok so I have seen this a few times before, where people have modified the position of the oil filter so it is easier to access and ultimately easier to change.

My questions are these:
1. What are the benefits of relocating the oil filter (other than accessability)?
2. What all is involved in relocating the oil filter? What steps need to be taken? Supplies/Tools?

Thanks for your time.
Cheers.

I was also thinking of the same questions. Its a pain to get them things out at times when the oil filter just doesnt want to come out and tools are hard to get to them.

I was also thinking of connecting it to a oil cooler before it goes back into the motor. would that be safe? i've seen a fin like wrap-around that suppose to act as an oil cooler that you wrap around the filter. thats how i got the idea.

The motor would look better if steel braided lines were used for the relocation kit.

benefits, accesebility, and you can put an oil cooler kit in easier. parts? there's kits you can buy that include everything. (oil filter sandwich adapter, remote oil filter holder, oil accumulator, steel braided hose, several swivel fittings, hose ends, things like that) not hard to do. hope i was some help

MR2 Turbo - Sold
dunno about the other parts for these but the greddy ones have outlets where u can easily install oil temp/pressure guages...and IF u turbo your car the 3s turbo header will get in your way so an oil filter kit is the best thign to do...
