So currently I'm riding on 215/45/17 tires. I'm planning on picking up a new set considering my tires are pretty much done. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on what I should pick up. My brother recommended toyo proxes4, considering that is what he has on his civic right now, but I value this site's opinion as well.

you ever get snow where you live in cali? if not, i personally would get summer tires. proxes 4 are nice all season tires, my brother has them. i have falken ziex ze512's and im pleased with them. good tire for a good price. they won a consumer digest award if i remember correctly.

I got toyo proxes FZ4s. I like em better than the hankooks i had before. Grip is pretty good. They're also pretty decent in the rain.

Youre in cerritos. You can pick em up at super autobacs for 73 bucks. Price ain't too bad.

BFG's worth the extra price. excellent quality.

I have the falkens now and they seem pretty
decent.

I had 15 in proxes fz4s on my car
originally, I personally hated them, lots of highway
noise,(my 32" BFG all terrains on my truck are quieter)
and wore out quickly. They do grip well on
dry surfaces though.

I had Falken Azenis RT-615s (not the old Azenis's, the RT215) 225/45-17 on my Eclipse. Loved them to death.

i just got some 215/45/17 BFGoodrich g-force sports today, they seem grippy for tires that cost less than $100 each..

i'd agree with gtsowner the azenis rt615's are amazing my friend has them on his ek and they grip good

i would get the toyo proxes4... i couldn't afford them so i just settled for some falken zeix512

Yep, and for a tire that grips this much, the price isn't bad either. Grabbed my set for under 700$ CAD.

right now I have the Falken Zeix ZE-512 (215/45/17). I had them on my stock wheels (195/60/15) for a few months before I got the 17s and loved them, thats why I got them again. they're amazing when you first get them but when they're worn you can really feel it affect drivability. I've loved them, they have thick sidewalls so they hold up well and ride great but I've only had them for like 6 months and I'm already having hydroplaning problems in the rain.

I would reccommend the Falkens if you don't mind replacing them sooner than you'd expect. I'm looking for some new tires that'll last longer.

The HRIIs are nice, resist hydroplaning well and good grip (took them to the track lol). Can't talk about wear though.

I have a set of Firestone Wide Ovals [205/50s] on my GTS wheels in the 97 Celica ST.. they grip very well. Not sure how much they cost tho.. I could get an entrace speed of 65mph on on ramps =] Much better than the 50mph with the worn down ES100 [225/45]

what tire has a pretty good wear rating? I'm trying to find a set that lasts at least 1.5years.. preferably more.
the proxes4 last about 1.5 years, if i'm not mistaken right?
