SO i'm driving by this small dealership and I see this 03 Mazdaspeed protege. I really think they look sweet... anyway I'm looking to maybe go buy it.... Wondering what the pros and cons of the car are, if its a reliable or has any major mechanical issues? ANyone know?

heres the link to it mazdaspeed protege for sale

Thanks for the help
i think you spelled protege wrong its actually protegh3y tongue.gif

THE STUFFS FOR SALE!
Cons :
-Limited engine modification possibilities. They took the engine from a regular protege and put a turbo on it. From what I hear, 12 psi on the engine is about all it'll take

Pros :
-4 door. Buddies can ride with you comfortably and/or you can easily bring the kids along.
-Doesn't have "give me a ticket" looks, but still stylish.
-Titanium color is awesome
-Tokico HP blues are OEM equipment
-4 door. Insurance companies are friendlier than with say for example, a Civic Si

my 2 cents

One o'dem crazy Canadian freaks, eh?
mileage seems really high. this could mean it was more of a commuter car and the owner wasn't gettin' it constantly, which is good, but idk about 4 year old cars with 70k+ on them.

looks like it's jacked up in the rear.

interior is six hells of ugly.

fwd. how awesome is it right now? because it's not going to change.

it is a nice looking car overall. not too boy-racer or boring...a nice balance.

they are pretty quick. i guy i know does pretty well in auto-x with his, but it has some suspension mods.

price seems good, to my limited knowledge.

do you know who i am, mr. worley?

yeah me concerns are mileage, but had to be lots of highway to really get that high in 3 years... It looks weird cause the front tires are 215/45/17 adn the rears are 215/50/17 so that neesd to be fixed.... Drove it today and handling was amazing and seemed to drive great. THe old owner put in a CAI which is touching the splash gaurd causing a noise every now and then(atleast what I believe it is) I am worried about the turbo adn the life of it. I need to find a mechanic around here that is familiar with turbo's to check it out cause I don't want the car to blow up... but clutch catches well and brakes are good.
grab it, quick car and elegant styling. Good price.

I thought it was that wagon thing they brought out this year. Why oh why would they pack the goods under the hood in that soccer mom mobile?

I think the car in the link looks nice.

those are nice a buddie of mine and i test drove, there quick and handle nice, id get it if i had the cash
Personally... for 12K i'd rather buy something with ZERO miles that's not wearing a mazda badge...
