Who lives alone in an apartment? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #45150 53 posts Started by amysmojo
I gotta find my own place within the next month. I'm just wondering how much some of you living alone out there pay a month? I know depending on where you live the prices will vary but I still would like to know. I dunno how im going to get approved for my own place though, my credit is not so good right now *bleh*

I would get a room mate but I don't know anyone in my area needing a room mate, so thats not even an option! If my car payment & car insurance weren't so high I could afford a place w/ no problem. Should I even *think* about getting rid of my baby just to live in a crap hole of an apartment?? Ahhhhh no! I'd get a part time job on top of my full time job before I ever did that.
In Fairfax, VA where i live for a 1 person you're looking upwards of
$1,100 min. a month
Here in my town appartments range for about $400 to $1000 a month. Just depends on how nice it is.

Thats what I want to do, my brother rents a room from his friend in AZ & only has to pay $350 a month *ooh soo lucky* But there are 8 bedrooms so thats why its so cheap for him....I wish I had a huge house I could rent out to my friends!
when i was in my 1 bdrm apt. i paid 325/month. I lived on 500 a month.

I think NOVA is rated as the wealthiest County in the Nation

this come outta the Washington Post article titled "Nation's Richest County Makes Spending a Sport"
Amy, let's share a room...1bed 1 bath. . .eh eh?
If your insurance / payments on a car like the celica are too high I wouldn't even consider my own place, unless you're making serious cash. Talk to some friends and look for a roomate that way, or start dialin numbers on your phone.

My car insurance, full coverage, is like $800 a year. My sportbike insurance is $40 a month, and my car is paid off.

Around here a decent 1 bedroom apartment costs $800 at least, for 2 bedroom it's easily over a grand. It's cheaper in a lot of instances to just rent a house, or even get a mortgage if you don't have ****ty credit.

Well, I had a one bedroom condo with my ex, and we paid $770/month. That is expensive here. frown.gif Average is like higher $500.

If I lived there, I would totally move in with you. frown.gif

YoungSurvival.Org-Celica traded for.. 350z.. traded for Mazda5.. soccer mom!
I pay $590/mo. plus electric and obviously food. I also live in an efficiency apartment up here at Purdue
I'm renting a town apartment with 2bedroom, 1 bath, 2 story, garage, 1300 sqft. for $815. Nothing included. xept for trash. : (

ha ha sure! are you moving over here? jen is my first choice though for a room mate biggrin.gif I honestly have no options for a room mate though, and I have no choice but to move out of my sisters place by march 15. I emailed a couple places today about studio apartments
Chico, CA

I pay 725.00 month...

"It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"1995 AT200 Celica ST:stocked out daily driver...1984 AE86 Corolla GT-SR5:silvertop 20V 4AGE project car jacked up with goodies...1991 SW2x MR2 n/a:bare bones hardtop model soon to be...
this REALLY depends on the area. You could pay $5000 a month in NYC for the same size place that you would pay $200 for in Bute, Montana.

When i rented, i paid around $600 a month for 700 sq ft, 1 bd room, 1 bath here in north Seattle. That doesnt mean squat unless you are looking for a place in north Seattle.

Amy, you just need to shop around. Rent.com, craigslist, etc... Craigslist has a categorey for people looking for roommates. You could go that route if youd like. I considered that when i was in school. Make appointments, check them out, drive around areas you like and watch for signs that say 'renting' or 'vacancy'

Its Orville's Celica, i just drive it...
only thing i can say is that because the housing market is down, the rental market is up. when i moved into my last apartment, i was paying 550/mo. a friend of mine moved into the same complex (i no longer live there) recently, and he's paying 625 for the same floorplan, same floor, same building.

most apartment logic is common sense, but if you can find a mid-level apartment that is just outside a major city, run by a bigger managment company...you should be able to do ok.

good luck apartment hunting, it's tough. smile.gif

do you know who i am, mr. worley?
oooh man this is stressing me out, I might just have to possibly...maybe... get rid of my car kindasad.gif

I put $506 bucks into my car each month, thats monthly payment plus insurance.....*grrrr* cause with my weird hours at work I cant imagine being able to get a 2nd job

i dunno... still trying to figure it out...
For $500 a month I could get a brand new Z06 Vette.
i pay $700/mth for mine. 1 living room, 1 dining, 1 bed room. all ultilities covered.
you should just move in with me and work on me lol j/p

my car payment is $250 not $500 lol. But my car insurance is $256 (thanks to a wreckless driving ticket I got in 2004, which wont drop off my record till 2008) So I was just adding the 2 together ($506)

I have been asking everyone I know if they need a room mate NO ONE does so far frown.gif, my friend zack who I have known since high school lives alone in a two story house & I told him my situation but he said "sorry, i like to live alone, no roomies for me but i hope you find something smile.gif "

The tri-cities has a flooded market and you can find
a decent one bdrm for about $450.00 a mo. My rent
went down at my old apt. from 465.00 to 435.00. Buy
a house, your credit doesn't have to be that good.

JDM guy made me do it.

there are traffic lawyers that can take that off your record. I got speeding tickets before and I pay this lawyer to take care all of it for $40. I don't even have to pay the ticket! very awesome. Except he can't handle my inspection ticket...
