Um, they are making fun/insulting the creators of Vista: Microsoft, not potential customers.

Well no, they didnt make that ad to make fun of microsoft, you probably seen all the other commercial. Basicly, if you're not a Mac user you're not all hip and young like that young guy, you're kinda like that boring office type guy that goes bald in their 40s.

-Rémy02SiR, 08250R
its true what they say in the commercial but macs still suck and windows will always dominate.
i have both a mac and windows. i edit videos on both systems. i love each for their own advantages. if you never tried a mac don't knock it because VISTA is a lot like MAC OSx.

my .02cents

The "Fly Low" Project: 3rd Gen 3SGTE
Ive used both also. However my experiences left me more satisfied with vista, the Mac OSx always seems to crash for me or bog down for no reason. Whenever i use Vista or any other Windows OS i never get any slow downs and no crashes.
only once have i had a PC crash and it had nothing to do with the OS, Macs on the otherhand, I am ALWAYS restarting them things and spending more time away from the machine because of the slowdowns.
i agree, Vista looks too much like a Mac OSx

I heavily use an iMac 20" core 2 duo at work.

The things crashed 2 times in the last 3 months. And I use photoshop and illustrator which is suprinsigly stable since they are being run through emulation with rosetta and are still quite fast.

Actually I used dual powermac G5s in the mac, less stable for some reasons.

The major thing I like with os x is exposé(extremely valuable in photoshop, windows photoshop has nothing similar, makes my work so much faster). And the dashboard too is really really useful to me. Other thing I love about OS X is draging files to dock, the colored labels, hot mouse corners, CD that appears on the desktop when inserted, all the useful included software from ilife, VERY fast file searching VS windows. All of which windows has NOTHING close comparable. And it it looks pretty and solid, where as windows used to look very 90-ish.

My next computer will be a mac, but a used one, they are overpriced.

Yea, you have a valid point there. But isn't that how all advertising works? If you don't buy Clearasol you are a spotty teen that no-one fancies. If you don't buy a BK Whopper, you aren't a real man. If you don't buy Lynx deodorant you won't pull girls. If you don't buy Jaguar you aren't young, rich and fabulous. And so on.

The current Mac advertising campaign is attempting to affect perception of PCs as office computers and arose consumer desire for a home computer that is different to the office computer. I guess this advert sums up the standpoint most directly:
http://images.apple.com/movies/euro/uk/get...ice_480x376.mov

The UK actors aren't as funny or as cutting as ther US counterparts in my opinion but the advert is funny enough.

vista now has very fast searches.

I find Mac to be extremely finicky sometimes. I've used both extensively, mainly using Mac G4/G5's for Music Recording running programs like ProTools, and PC for lesser things around the house, schoolwork, etc....When I used a G4 it used to freeze, crash, have clocking problems between the external and internal soundcards....CD mounting issues.....

That's why the "Why Mac's Suck" video had me rolling, its so true in many ways. laugh.gif

I think that Mac is well suited for alot of things, however everytime I've ever thought that Mac might have an edge over PC's, I am quickly proven wrong by seeing a PC do the exact same task just as well, if not better. My brother is a professional designer/illustrator and uses Alienware computers and they're amazing. For the money you spend on a new Mac you could buy one of those that will easily hand most any Mac its own ass. Not to mention, PC's are so much of a well known science that its becoming a hot-rodding culture with huge potential.

Both OSX and Windows are flawless (well almost) if you setup and maintain properly.

I have no complains on both systems.
