I would like to wire a few things off one power source (turn/sidemarker wires) and would like to know how I should go about wiring it up.

If Im using an spdt relay would I wire it at the beginning of the wire, and then "splice" all my multiple circuts into it after the single relay at the begging (more series like)

or

would I need to use a different spdt relay for each circut i will be wiring? (almost parallel like)

Is my logic totally off? Or would this be the 2 ways to wire it up?

I also want a few of the acc im wiring up to have the blinking function of the turn signal (with the use of the relay)

And how can I figure out how much my current is dropping (so I know what resistors to get for the led's)

Also, if I use the relay(s) will my bulbs dim? or will they still be getting the same amount of electricity, and be jsut as bright as when just one bulb was hooked up?

im a little confused on your question. the spdt relays have 4 legs i beleive. two of the legs monitor one circuit and the other two power the circuit you want. ill try to find some more information for you. the relay only uses enough power to run its coil and that shouldnt effect anything, but you will need to run another power wire for your lights if you dont want to tap into the light circuit.

tap into the neg and pos wires coming from your blinker...
connect one to 85 and one to 86, shouldnt matter which way it goes
that will automate the switch for you.

then run a power wire for the leds and connect it to either 87 or 87a.
then run a wire from 30 to your leds and a wire from your leds to a ground in the car and it should work.

note: you will still have to calculate the resistance you need for the leds
note: if they blink the opposite of what you want change the 87 connection

I think you are still misunderstand me. I would like to wire multipe things off one original circut.

In the end, I would like to have the bulbs in my sidemarkers aswell as the bulbs in my projector accent lights to blink alternatively with the turn signals. (turn signals come on, sidemarker/accent come on --> turn signals blink off, sidemarker/accent stay on --> turn signals blink on, sidemarker/accent blink off --> turn finished, all lights come back on)

I would also like to wire up a few leds (probably 4) to run off the turn signal power wire. When the turn signals come on, I want these leds to come on as well. I would like them to be on as long as the turns are on, but not to blink, just remain solid.

So, can I run all these extra things off the one power source (turn signal power) w/o having all my bulbs dim? How much is my forward current going to be dropping (if any) and how much at each point?

What amperage spdt relay should I get for the bulb circuts (15A?) and what amperage fuse should I get to wire the led's up (run them through a 10A fuse?)


I hope that cleared things up a bit...if not ill try my best to reword it. Sorry for being so confusing

EDIT: Here is a quick wiring diagram of what is going through my mind. Its not 100% accurate, but it will give you an idea of what I'm trying to do. Please note, there is 2 different variations, one of them is the "series circutry" and the other is the "parallel" circutry. That is what I meant by using one spdt relay at the beginning of the WHOLE circut, as opposed to using one at the beginning of EACH circut. Since the 2 bulbs running off the spdt relays are going to both be wired up the same way, can just one relay handle it (w/o dimming my bulbs). I also have 2 ways of wiring the leds. One is before all the other bulbs, and one is after. Does it make a difference?

since your turns and acc have wires ran already i would do something like that, you wouldnt put any noticeable stress on any circuit that way.

you may want to run the leds off their own relay, but other than that i would think 3-4 relays would do what you wanted

now about you wanting them to alternate twice as slow as the blinkers, im not sure of an easy way to do that. this setup would make everything blink the same.

Not twice as slow, just alternating with the turn signals (like on gm trucks/suburbans, gen 2 integras)

The Acc bulbs do not currently have wires/power going to them. I was going to splice a wire to power them.

As for the leds, I dont want them to blink, just to come on with the turns.

What amp should I get for the relays (and fuse for led)?

i would get something like that, i used similar ones to power some lights at one time and didnt have a problem.

as far as a fuse for the leds.. im not sure, i never bothered fusing them. never had one blow, and if i did i have plenty of extras.

I do have plenty of extra led's, problem is, where I am putting them they will be a HUGE pita to change out...thats why I want to make sure they dont blow in the first place...
