These rims/tires were on the car when I got it. I plan on repainting them this summer, but I really don't like the gap between the fenders and the tires. I think they're 16s... does anybody offer wider tires to fill the gap? Or should I try lowering it? Not sure if 16s lowered would look good either. Or should I just get all new tires/rims... I'm trying to fix this the cheapest way possible... <<poor college student Thanks, Scott

The best way to close that gaps is to go for bigger wheels/tires AND lower the car. If you just put bigger diameter whees/tirs on without lowering the car, your car will sit higher and looks hideous.

Actually 16's with a descent drop would be fine. If you just drop the car using Teins or Eibach you will be fine. No reason for larger rims unless you just want them.
Check the rear end pic on my profile for example. The side pics are taken before I got my GTS rims. I just love those pics and don't know how to get additional places for pics.

My rear struts are gone anyway, I geuss a drop is doable. I see Tein S on eBay all the time, where can I get cheap shocks?

I got my KYB GR-2's from Andy's AutoSport. They had the whole "lowest price garentee" and I pointed them to NOPI's site, where it was cheaper. They gave me the GR-2's at 220 shipped.

And 16" wheels would look good lowered. Hell, I had 15" 7th Gen GT wheels with my Coilovers and it looked awesome.

Yeah, 17"s look good too but a little bumpy and not good for places with bad roads [like Houston LOL] but anything larger is just asking for trouble. Keep the 16's they look good and perform well.

i have 18s and slammed my celica up to 4" it was fine

but ur thoughts of bigger tyre will screw up your speedometer.
lowering your car is a better solution

remember to keep proper tyre/rim ratios or u'll have to get ur speedo adjusted
