it might be cheaper if you just move to a country where those cars are/were available.

I would like you to have researched the subject a bit prior to posting but neverless let me try to explain intricasies of 94-99 celica superdooperness.
A celica is no Honda nor its a Mitsubishi nor its a insernt car brand here that could be just imported with no complications.
The caviat is that while it is hypothetically possible to import a gt-4 here it is extremely troublesome to do.
A-you need contacts
B-you need money
C-you need a scheme to bypass importation laws
D-when you do get it here it is illegal in its original form as well as even if it is legal (converted to fir DOT standarts) there will be lots of police eyeballing your car just because, so that when you do so much as sneeze they will be all over you, especially if its not legalized)
E-This one goes separate. Since USA does not nornally host rally races you can not import car here under premise that it will be used for racing because rally is not technically a recognized motor sport here. However you can import car for a couple of days and from what I hear they will put a monitoring device and or require you to send the car back.
However if you still desire to go through with it.. ask companies such as evolution imports who import japanese cars here and maybe you can negotiate something.
On the other hand.
It is cheaper to install 3sgte engine along with bajillion modifications and still spend less money than getting a gt4 here.

Captain Pessimist
Slap a GT-R badge on a ST to end up with a Toyota Celica GT-R.

I was thinking more along the lines of putting a Type-R badge on it.
