Benching - 6G Celicas Forums

So I just started with a personal trainer 2 weeks ago. he had me last week bench and I was doing 75 pounds for 12 reps 3 times. Then today we were doing the same and then we bumped it up to 95 but I could only handle it for one go around. So then I wanted to max out and I ended up maxing at 105. Yeah I know that doesnt seem like much but hey for a girl thats not too bad!

Im excited to lift some more. Obviously not going to go overboard cuz I dont wanna end up too buff. obviously i know that would take a lot of work. Anyways im excited :-) it feels good to be back in the gym!

What do you guys normally bench and whats ur max?

Thats pretty good Nat. Most girls I know cant even get close to that.

For me when im bench pressing I do like this.

185lbs 10 times.
225 lbs 8 times.
245lbs 5 times.
260lbs 3 times.

Thats my normal MWF workout when I bench.

I max out around 305.

I just recently got back into lifting heavy. When I pitched in college I could get really really buff because I would get to tight and couldnt pitch like I needed too. But im not playing this season so I can lift however I want!

I think my max was like 80-85ish... but Im pretty scrawny... (hahah my boss even pointed that out when I told him I go to the gym and weight lift lol)

My normal weight lift session though is anywhere to 40-50 pounds (legs around 100+) and I just do a crap load of reps. Does pretty much the same job, gets ya all nice and toned up...

ahhh Im excited to go back to the gym, I miss the feeling after a good work out.

264lb is normal (6-7-8 times, depends on mood biggrin.gif)
286lb is about 4 times

Don't know max now (10 years ago biggrin.gif It was 275lb), Have not tried since that...

whoops! the 40-50 is on those weight lifting machines, kind of a big thing to leave out considering theyre WAY easier then freeweights >_< Thats why I do so many reps cuz its pretty easy with those lol

But I do bench 40-50, just not often haha... I havent reached my max in like a year or so cuz I dont like to strain myself like that haha *whimp*

The legs though thats true... I was in soccer 8 years and all that running did something.

What about squats??

Im at 185 on squats - thats with a machine.

I went to high school with a girl who was repping 160. She was a butch, fo' real!

I haven't done benchpressing or squats since 10th grade, but in 10th grade my benchpress max was 265 and my squats were 390. The bar holding the weight would bend across my back and I would have a line of popped blood vessels from where the bar layed.

The only other good thing I did in that class was a 960lb incline press.

Wow... That's pretty good for a girl. Nat you have to admit though, you're more built for lifting weights than an average girl.

260 @10 reps X 3 sets and im happy, never tried maxing out but i wanna get my 10 X 3 to 300lbs by the end of the year (lame azz new years goal)

highest i've ever maxed is 190.... I'm a pansy smile.gif But as long as I'm benching more than my weight *back then 140 and now around 160*
60 lbs over my body weight - it's pointless to talk about the weight lifted because body structure makes soo much difference.... so i'll leave it at that .... 60lbs over body weight isnt too terrible

i weigh 170. the most i can do is 225. 3 sets of 10 reps. never tried maxing out.

ss-iii splitters and 404 skirts areon. which means i need to update my sig.
In high school I squatted 575. That was a working rep max.

Dang thats pretty good nat.. I never bench.. but i think the last time i did i maxed at somthing like 185 lmao..

I just work out to keep in shape and get/stay cut.. I dont care about numbers
