I was reading through some posts in FI forum and there as been a lot of talk about up-pipes. I bought a 3rd gen 3sge exhaust manifold thinking that it would bolt to my 5sfe head with slight modifications. Well, that didn't happen. I ended up going custom header and still have my 3sge manifold setting in my shead. So who wants to try this thing as an up pipe for a 3rd gen 3sgte? I bet it would work great. It would be simple to stick an adapter on it and run the turbo. I'll accept about any offer, I just want in gone. Just offer me more than it's worth as scrap metal and it's yours. I'll have pics ASAP.

What would the turbo bolt to?

There is a regular pattern at the bottom of the manifold to bolt to the downpipe of the stock 3sge exhaust. If you made a custom addapter to go from the header to the turbo, it would work. It's just an idea.

hey ..I came across this thread by accident.But i have a 86 celica with a 1st gen 3sge..If it a tubular header than i would be interested..i have paypal, I'll take it as long as it is crack free and decently priced.-Ricky

I bought another 3rd gen 3SGE a little while ago, and the exhaust manifold was completely different. After looking around online, I found out that the stock manifold was a 4-1 setup with a cat built in (which is what this other motor came with). Check this out:

Does this look like the manifold I sold you? I think you might have a really good aftermarket piece there. BTW - you should post it up on the forums at mr2oc.com and mr2boards.com - there are a few 3rd gen 3SGE powered guys on those sites.
