Carbon Fibre Hood Fitted - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #46209 19 posts Started by BigAl_UK
Well, my stock hood was in pretty bad shape - it had micro-blisters from a bad spray job and scratches from cats/stones etc. So I replaced it with a carbon fibre one biggrin.gif

Looks good! Are you going to paint it to match the rest of the car, or keep that way? Is that your garage/driveway behind the celi?! wow! no wonder you had to fold the mirrors! laugh.gif

I was going to paint it but as it is so simillar to the black in most lights I think I might leave it.

Yep, that's my garage in the background (a pretty standard size one for the uk) but I don't put the car in it - it's too full of other things laugh.gif Plenty more driveway round the side though wink.gif And I always fold the mirrors because it is a JDM car (so you have a nice little button to do it for you) and if they get broken it costs lots to get some more laugh.gif

You can get an ultrasonic perimiter fence thingy. I place 4 boxes round the car and cats won't go near it. It's motion activated and just emits a noise only cats (and presumably) some other animals can hear. It's not cruel as it doesn't hurt them they just dislike it. After a couple of weeks of use you only need to use it if a new cat appears as all the others will avoid your car like the plague laugh.gif

Thanks for the comments guys biggrin.gif More pics after the next lot of mods which include lowering 40mm, GT4 side skirts some black LikwidArt Toyota badges to replace the silver ones and doing something with all this space which won't be a boot build wink.gif

Wow I should try that. I have a black cat sleeps on the roof of my car, or under my car almost every night. I thought it was cool and ignored it cuz it didn't do any damage to my car. It only left paw prints on my dirty car and I thought it was kinda funny... black cat + black car.... Though, just past weekend I saw nail scratches on my rear right fender. mad.gif

Every time I come home from work one of my cats hops up on the hood and lays right over the engine and goes to sleep. So I sit and wait for her to jump on there and get comfy, and I set off my alarm. It gets a good laugh.

My alarms so sensative that the GF's cats were setting it off every night for about a month there when she first moved in. I guess they figured it out now LOL.
