low offset wheel fitment on celica... - 6G Celicas Forums

like the disescrisiption says, is"18x8 +30 offset wheels with a 225/35/18 tire, 1.75 drop and roled fenders" going to rub??? my mesurements says no rubb!!! others have told me that it will rubb...what is your opion??? it this too much offset???

That is going to stick out a tone. I hope you really mean -30 offset. Our cars are -35 stock.

so will this offset work or not in your opion??? I think it will, according to the offset chart you can run +28 stock hight and +40 with droped hight, so if you run +30 offset with roled fenders you will be left with 2mm clearence... this is the optimum offset for maximum wheel lip that you can fit on our cars with out rubbing... (ie, only with the wheel, tire and drop specs givin above...)

Our stock offset is +35 ish. -35 is is like... WHOA NUTS! The wheels will be sticking several inches out from the fender.

18x8 with a 30mm offset is pushing it very very close. I tend to think it'll rub on the fronts when you turn. It'll probably be OK depending on how low you ride.

Tirerack sells +35mm 18x8s for our cars so I'm confident that +30mm will fit... maybe without even rolling your fenders. We're talking about a 5mm difference. Not something I'd be too worried about if you're already planning on rolling your fenders.

Ok. I will be serious. Turning wont be a problem. The fronts will be perfectly fine. The only issue is whether the rears will scrape when you go over a bump. With rolled fenders, my guess is that you wont have a problem.

That question cannot be answered without rim width. it also helps to know what size tire you are going with as well because tire size can effect wheel width.

That question cannot be answered without rim width. it also helps to know what size tire you are going with as well because tire size can effect wheel width.

18x8 + 225/35/18 + 1.75 drop + roled = +?? offset... ( i think +29 offset is as far as you can go!!!)

If you roll your fenders one centimeter you'll be perfectly fine with +30mm on an 18x8. You may not even need to roll your fenders with the size tire you've chosen.

Wannabe is correct. The wheels will look very flush. I think you will be very happy with the look in that size. The only thing that gives me pause is the 35% sidewall which will significantly increase the harshness of your ride on roads that are less than ideal.

stock suspension cept sway bar - 35mm offset 18x8 no probs - tis on a coupe so i dunno how much hatchs differ in this department - they deff look amazing flush against the car like that, makes it look like a million bucks in my mind

i know it was a bad choice on tire size... at that time i was thinking it would rubb so i went a little thin on the side wall, but onice i have the car on the road i can do some "real world" testing and see what works then... also the roads here in FL around my city are near perfecit... wink.gif
